Arno,

the electric upright bass could be very interesting for me.
Are the samples just "line out" or are they recorded from a speaker/mic and/or processed in some way ?

The samples are line out, and i did that on purpose since you can have every kind of amp simulation in your sequencer.

And if you wait a little, i'm cleaning the samples right now. Don't worry all the people that purchased it will get the update for free. This was one of my first libraries and i thionk i can do better now

Hello thysm00,
just want to say that I'm more than pleased with your "big" electric bass (Bassysm-J).

I purchased it 2 days ago, and so I not had that much time to deeply play it, but so far, so good :
- the tone is excellent, authentic, and clean at the same time (reminds me the immaculate sound of Scarbee's basses)
- the clever and balanced way notes were sampled make it really easy to get a realistic, lively feel under the fingers.
- The legato and hammer-ons work very well (maybe the slide is a bit too subtle for me) and the nuances of each note is really satisfying, I suppose it's because you sampled many velocity layers.
- About this, although I have not seen any round robin feature, I did not hear any gunshot effect, so I assume it's probably your dense velocity mapping which prevents from this.

At this price, it's an incredible bargain and I will wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone : attitude, pristine sound, scripting, no learning curve.

Please, keep on making sample libraries, I'm sure that such a quality/price ratio will make your company a successfull one.
As for myself, i will expect your electric guitar !

I do agree about the -ysm thing. Though for me it wasn't corny so much as just repetitive. But it sure makes it easier to name new products!

Big respect to those demos, by the way! Very funkadelic. The snare sounds outstanding! May I ask what you used to record it (mic/pre)?

This was the first time (or maybe the second) i recorded my drumset so it also was my first audio equipment

The mics are: a pair of behringer B2 pro for the overheads in ORTF configuration, an apex 335 above the snare and a t-bone (i don't remember which, but a condenser mic like the others) under. I just plugged that into my alesis multmix firewire.

I do now have much better equipment/mics, neumann mics, tube preamps, tube mics, but i think the sound isn't bad even with cheap chinese mics (even if the berhinger ones are not that cheap).

Yeah, I know what you mean. If you have a good instrument being played well in a decent room, you can still get a very nice recording with inferior gear. I think the "critical ear" is the most important thing--judging the quality of the recording and experimenting with mic placement until it sounds the way you imagined it in your head.

The next Wusikstation update will feature several new things like Round-Robin, Key Switching, Legato and Release layers. Its very easy to do those with the new SFZ support.

I know (correct me if i'm wrong) that shortcircuit does not allow the release samples when using the sfz format. But wusikstation is about to, and i'm converting a big part of my samples to sfz, at least the ones that i can do, some of them use too much kontakt scripting.
The pianos are already available for sfz and i'm doing the fretless bass and the vibraphone right now.

The new instruments that i'm sampling right now will also have a sfz version, but will be out in january i think.
