That looks perfect! Yum! Me want.DuX wrote:This would be my choice, toojupiter8 wrote:Rottweiler wrote:is the branis gui the dark one?
This is the one i'm personally waiting for. It is teh awesome. LimeFlavour's GUI sure looks tasty and all but i prefer this one.. Very easy on eyes. Yum.
Cheeers!

If you made Xhip half as good as Sylenth 1 v.2 it would be ok. Gtr'done will ya?

Personally I use the waveshaper as an 'after' effect and not normally during the sound design process. I have used it to saturate some bass sounds; would 24Hz alter the depth of a bass sound?aciddose wrote:the one thing i'm still unhappy with in the synth is actually the waveshaper pre-filter which i think should go from lowpass for the bottom 50% to highpass at the top 50% of the control. the only problem is that normally you want at least 30hz highpass or so to prevent the shaper from saturating and stealing away all the low frequency content.
any ideas on that or does it sound good? (remember there is only one control available for the parameter, so no bandpass is possible unless it's a fixed one)
As an example I'm looking at an old amp right now and it has a subsonic (great word

the filter is a low-bypass where the content above the cutoff (24hz, whatever) is passed into the waveshaper, and the content below bypasses and is mixed directly with the waveshaper output. this preserves bass since say if we used a log shape where 1.0 = 0.5, now if there is DC content everything becomes saturated into a very narrow range and you get "high frequency muting", or "gating" by the dc component.
with the bypass this is corrected - in fact the bypass is ALREADY THERE it's just only highpass. i proposed changing it so that the current range is 50% -> 100%, while the low range 0% -> 50% makes up a lowpass instead, but with the low-bypass fixed at 24hz to prevent muting/gating.
i'll just do it, and you'll like it if i say it's good, damn it!

If I'm getting it right, we'll get the current behavior on the right half of the control plus new possibilities on the left, so it seems like a good add.
The transition between <50% and >50% will be seamless, right?

yep, if the control were at exactly 50% it'll be like no filter is present.

nice clip... bad midi timing?
BTW, will the latest GUIs (limeflafour - branis - gsoto) have full access to every synth parameter?

that's up to the designers.
i actually like to monitor the channel directly and have the daw set up with a "tape recorder bypass" type configuration since not surprisingly my cheap ass sb-live colors the audio quite a bit and adds noise.
i was playing the part live with a cable directly from the controller, audio outs -> console mixer -> dawbad midi timing?

hmmm, so bad human timing...
Then I forward my previous post to limeflafour, branis and gsoto: will your GUIs have full access to every synth parameter? as I tried some time ago one of them (maybe the earlier branis one) and there was many parameter missing...aciddose wrote: that's up to the designers

That's my intention, yes; and I'm pretty sure it is Limeflavour's and Branis' as well.fliffo wrote:will your GUIs have full access to every synth parameter?

aciddose, is this supposed to be a working skin or not? I can't get it to show any gui with this file (might be my own fault though
