Hello.
I would like to know how to use a midi script?
The "exemple.lua" interests me, but I have no idea how to use it...
I tried replace the original .lua by this "exemple.lua" script from the expert sleepers website, but it doesn't work.
And, why not, one day, make scripts available as presets?!
Jul.

Hi,
this is quite well explained in the manual (page 57) - it's just a matter of placing the script in the right location.
cheers,
os.

Yeah, I understood that, but I didn't understand where are these "right locations".Hi,

I've tried different copy/paste in different spaces of the original midi.lua, where I have supposed it would match, but no...
For exemple, am I supposed to put the explanations sentences of the exemple.lua?
Does it matter?
Whatever, I don't know which datas of this script I should copy and/or modify, and replace those from the default .lua, where to put them if there's nothing similar in the default...
I really want to upgrade, espescially because of THIS script. So if I can't made it usable...
Cheers.

I just read your post again - you seem to be talking about editing the script, which is not the idea at all.
You should download the file 'example.lua' and put it in the 'right location' *on your hard drive*. I.e. in
Library/Application Support/Expert Sleepers/Augustus Loop/Scripts
or
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Expert Sleepers\Augustus Loop\Scripts
depending whether you're on Mac or PC.
So don't edit midi.lua at all. In fact, if you have edited it, be sure to restore it to its original state, else you might run into all kinds of unexpected difficulties.

I've no such file in application support! Are you sure about the diection.
Moreover I can't download the exemple.lua, I need to copy and paste it in TextEdit. Is it ok?
With the beta,I've tried directly in the content of the plug-in file, but it's not good.

You need to create the necessary folders in Application Support if they don't already exist.
You should be able to download the file if you right-click on the link.
Otherwise you can just copy and paste the text into a new file and save it in the right place (but make sure you save it as a plain text file).

Ok.
Firefox didn't want, but Safari was ok to download the file.
So, I have a "example.lua.txt" when downloading it.
I create the Expert Sleepers/Augustus Loop/Scripts folder in app support.
Put the file in, but nothing happened.
I've also tried by placing the file in the Contents/Ressources folder of the plug-in himself, where the "midi.lua" is... still nothing.

The file is called "example.lua". If you leave the .txt on the end it won't work.

So is it working now?
If not, I'd be happy to do an iChat screen sharing session with you, so I can see directly what's happening on your machine.
