Sure. Most of us just dial up and tweak presets designed by pros. With Synplant I can go from nothing to an interesting, musical sound fast enough that it doesn't break my compositional flow.

Yeah. Weird percussion effects just fall out of this thing and the way that each note can be a totally different sound is genius.

Yeah. I also bought that $500, 50gig monster but I honestly haven't even loaded it up in the last month I've been so busy with this.

For some more sound examples, I used Synplant *heavily* in most of the tracks in this thread:

Yeah, it is that rare synth that is both fun to program and fun to play at the same time. I've never used it to just load and play and I've also never loaded it just to program it and save patches never bothering to play it until later.

It demands both at the same time...I like that in an instrument.

wow. quickest synth purchase I've ever made. this is amazing :-o

To me it just looks like a fancy way of using a random function on a synth. Chainer and eXT1.4 and others already do a random function quite nicely.

Maybe I just need to use it some more, but so far, it just strikes me as a random function in fancy dress.

Oh well, saves me some money!

OMFG !!!!

Just tried the demo on my work computer using just the
keys on my computer and messing about, did some gene manipulation,
cut some branches and did some more gene manipulation.

THIS THING IS FREAKING WILD ! the sounds,FANFREAKINTASTIC !
CPU,VERY LOW,I am one that is into weird and bizarre sounds
and Atmospheric soundscapes, this thing will definately be
used alot in my studio.

This thing sounded good on my cheap computer speakers at work,
I simply cannot wait to get home tonight to see how this thing sounds
in my studio.

going to buy it this week after payday.
blah..blah..uptight...blah..blah

Anybody that writes this off after 15 minutes is doing themselves a huge disservice. It most certainly is *not* just another random function.

This is one of the most inspirational synths I have ever played. I must have created about twenty new patches in as many minutes, all of them very useable. It's so easy to use and so great to play!

Speaking of which, any word on the Alchemy release? :-)

Never said that I was writing it off, I just mentioned that it seems to be merely a fancy random function.

If not, why not?

Glad you like it, but my world doesn't come to a screeching halt just because a new synth comes out that I may not decide to buy!

Look, just because someone changes the names of commonly used synth parameters to words like plant, weed, etc, etc. doesn't make it signifigant, it just makes it a clever marketing ploy by repackaging existing concepts.

Have fun with your synth-oh,sorry-GARDEN sounds!

Maybe you could actually use it before making up your mind?
