Hey, sorry we're late with the announcement. A decision was made to announce it the same day it is available for download. This way once you hear the juicy details you can even just go instantly buy it for a change instead of having to wait after getting excited... assuming you're getting excited.

Speaking of excitement, two wild and unlikely things are happening this week for recording/sampling sessions in the UK. We're in Germany now but hearding over to London for a week to do some really cool sessions. I may try to stream some video live somehow and when you see where we'll be I think you might find it interesting.

So, we're preparing the new products for download now. It should be ready before the end of the week. Difficult without me and some of the guys in the office but they're cranking away at it and I have limited internet access (plus jet lagged deluxe - I haven't slept in 48 hours probably and after this post I am going to hit that pillow HARD and REM will begin almost immediately).

Well there you go. I run my company fairly democratically for the most part. I was the one who wanted it announced Monday but since various elements like audio demos, product descriptions, manuals, installers and gigabytes of data transfers are apparently still going on everyone back at the office pretty much begged me to be patient so... I'm going to wait until they are ready with everything to give the final word... even though I'm anxious to tell you all. I think for the most part some of you know what it probably is. It isn't THAT hard to figure out but there's a little twist to it that makes it better than anyone may have expected, besides the one aspect of it being able to read our proprietary multi-track Rexes. If you have an idea of the POWER of what just THAT feature can do then it is enough to get excited about this. However, since we'll be the first company to really do that in a plug-in I am sure I will have to demonstrate it in a way so you see what we see about it.

Essentially showing how that there is a difference between REAL playing of the drummer vs. a midi loop (what 90% of popular drum software does for grooves). Midi loops are still great but in most cases, especially if it is a top pro drummer, a real audio loop is going to sound better for many reasons. One of those reasons is the nuances of feel in the timing, dynamics but also timbral variety of really being able to hit ANYWHERE on the actual drum with any part of the kit and all deliberately by someone who has played on records and tours for years and years and then the fact that with each hit of a real drum a different thing rattles or resonates on the kit or how it reflects in the room... there's no question that it is going to have audible differences. So, to me the best of both worlds would be to have some combination of real audio loops from great drummers AND the playable drum kit (with midi loops) and still both being able to have the discrete mic channels to mix (ala BFD etc.). It is hard to believe that this doesn't exist as a plug-in... until now with this. Basically, it is safe to say that Drum Masters Gold Edition, the product we've been advertising for 6 months in the magazine, is part of this new !nfinitely cool plug-in I am talking about and this will be released within days after many YEARS since the first Studio ProFiles group buy we had.

If I was to tell you though that this is the tip of the iceberg however... well, that might make it even more exciting for you or at least people who are looking for great new sounds to use in their music and more realism, variety and quality/expressiveness than they've been able to get out of their computer music set up. Not to mention very specific character sounds that can only be gotten in specific studios by specific producer/engineers or musicians. It's pretty exciting for me. A big dream of mine to do this on a lot of levels besides just the business side. There's a whole musical appreciation side of it, educational and even just then thrill to be working with some of my heros too aspect of it and of course I am really happy for those that will get access to things that if no company cared enough to travel the world and do these sort of sampling sessions they'd never have access to while some of these studios are still standing or these musicians/producers are even still around. Not much in life lasts forever... but samples and music do.
