I'm using an iBook G4 with OS 10.4.11 with no audio interface or MIDI keyboard.

Why not use it without energyxt or an os just for a real challenge!

Aren't macs supposed to have core audio and core MIDI?

confirmed on my G4 iBook... some drag & drop things seem not to work on PPC macs.

AAARRGHH!!! Not what I wanted to have happen! First XT2 refuses to record audio on my PC - nobody had any idea why and I tried everything - now this. Throwing different MIDI files together was going to be my way of "improvising" on a sequencer and now that might not work? There's got to be a solution for this.

If you read some other threads, then all you have to do is wait. ^_^

I haven't read actually how long it is, and some people here (but Shush, don't ask who) seem to think Jorgen wouldn't have time to answer in 30secs when days have 14 hours in them, after plenty of sleep is taken out! :)

well, you could convert the midi files to xtc clips (drag & drop works with those), but since there is no other way to import midi files, you can't convert them on the mac.

I just thought of this - when I open the MIDI tab in Setup, there's nothing in either the MIDI-in or MIDI-out bins. I wonder why it dosen't recognize the core MIDI? The Audio tab shows Built-In Audio.

boot-camp (or whatever) xt2, convert to xtc, reboot and open in xt2 macOS?

this is getting out of hand.

Post

I don't think Bootcamp will work with the PPC iBook. So can this be considered a bug? I could submit it on the appropriate thread. Or is my system screwy? I was just gifted this mac so it's possible.

yes this is a bug! & has a place in the bug thread! (unless its there already)

you could also change the title of this thread to make it a bug report, (or i can do it for you if you wish?)

something like "BR: Midi Drag&Drop not working OSX PPC"

to edit the title of the thread just edit the first post,

I'll change the title - thanks for the confirmation!

The moderator said it was always a good idea to bump issues like this.
