I just checked back and now it says 2+ days to go!?

Why on earth have a countdown timer to get folks pumped up and then reset it for two more days?

Technical difficulties or something? :(
There was never suppose to be a timer. As I was saying, the webmaster LOVES that counter and put it on without any "go" from me or anyone else. He probably forgot to take it down. In all fairness though, some of us who normally help him are out of the office and we left him with oh... maybe 100 products to get ready for download!!!!! So, surely he's overwhelmed. Sorry about the false countdown to nothing. It WAS supposed to all be available on Friday but there was just TOO much and it wasn't all ready so... we're shooting for MONDAY. All of Drum Masters Silver, Gold and Platinum available as individual - choose what you want - downloads or as pre-order boxes shipping toward the end of the month. There is at least information released on www.studioprofiles.com in a nice big article I was a part of recently. Then the official press releases will be out there with more info on Monday... the same time you can buy the plug-in, download it and start getting sample sets for it.

The Infinite Player will play both Drum Master series and every other instrument you can think of.

OK, thanks for the update Squids.

I will check back on Monday.

(I'm won't assume the current renegade countdown timer that is running now means anything at this point! )

A countdown to tea time perhaps. I'll have a chat about counters when I get home. You know, new toys... just like us but for a web developer FLASH is like having a new instrument plug-in or something.

Whew... still sampling this grand piano. It's got more than 88 keys so it is a real task! Especially doing really long durations which I wonder sometimes if it is worth it but just in case SOMEone thinks it is we're doing it (I personally don't actually, I'm fine with a loop about 8 seconds into the decay but these are like 25 second natural decays for the purist's appeal... and my bad back suffers!)

Onward... but really it is amazing! I can't wait to play the samples myself. So so so good! Deluxe. The dream audio input with mics and everything. Wait until you see the pics. Just insane. OWD style stuff.

are we going to see this today?

Finished at about 5 am. All 97 keys! Woah. That was brutal! Sampling Floydy kits now. Sounds killer. We might get the Copeland drum sound with Hugh Padgham tomorrow even though it was supposed to be a day off. But... we can't help it.

That looks amazing! No really, this is awesome - the ability to integrate loops with multisampled kits where both the kits and the loops are from the exact same session! And being able to seamlessly switch between loops and kits... Woo!

It's a system that makes a whole lotta sense. It's one step closer to the REAL DEAL which is just simply having a world-class drummer in a world-class studio available to you 24/7 for your writing, producing, messing around etc. needs.

We've been researching where certain special or "magical" or "classic" qualities of certain elements of music production reside. When it comes to great drum tracks... is it the drummer? The drum kit? The mics? The mic pres? The acoustics of the room? The placement of the kit in the room? Placement of the mics on the drums? The engineer that places them? That eq's, compresses or process them in a certain way? Is it the groove? Is it the groove that DAY? That moment of inspiration? Was it the song or music the drums are in context of? Was it the vibe? The attitude? Was it the way it was recorded? The sample rate/bit rate? The A to D? The clock? Or was it that it was to analog tape? 2 inch 24? 2 inch 16? 2 inch 8 track? 1 inch 4 track with tubes?

Any number of things can go into what makes something a classic, exceptional sounding and feeling drum track and/or full music track. There's also rarely just ONE answer. Often times it's a combination of any number of those things.

So, what this ambitious Studio ProFile series is trying to do is uncover the "secrets" behind signature sounds from musicians, engineers, producers, studios and the studio instruments and preserve them as a music creation tool for anyone to have access to (access to the masters).

... and then there's also this method of creating drum tracks with BOTH multi-track drum kits AND grooves that lock to tempo and we think that's the next step in creating better drum tracks in your DAW. For more info about that check out the article recently posted on www.studioprofiles.com

Looks like the Infinite Player plugin is now available on esoundz! With the acoustic piano and Sonor kit. Nice. Bought just now.

We want to hear all about it!

I'm at work, so it was pretty much quick purchase for later. I will give it a whirl at some point soon though. I'm all for the multi-track drum concept. But the piano is compelling too - my Yamaha Clavinova is MIDI-capable so I'll try the patch with a decent controller and see how it "reacts". I don't have more than 88 keys though haha.

It's a 24 bit triple strike 300 meg piano. Very nice one in fact. I think you'll like it! Enjoy. Nice that it comes free with the player right now for the launch. Also that particular sampled Sonor kit is beautiful!

It does work with our Rex files and you have access to them to use in other things... they're not locked in an NKX. But, you can't load in your own Rexes... for that you'd need full Kontakt 3. But all Kontakt Player products qualify for an upgrade through NI. Kontakt is a good tool to have anyway.

Many videos will be coming.
