Just download the Interlok (not iLok!!!) drivers here:
http://interlok.com/download.html
Don't run the installer
There's an uninstall routine to run
Run it.
Ah, thanks for that.

Be aware though, that is not the iLok installer. That's the installer for the TH1 protection scheme, if you uninstall it, you won't be able to run TH1 (or any other plugin using iLok or Interlok protection) in any way, not even in demo mode.
Yeah, I'm aware of that.

Regarding the sim, I haven't played much with it yet, but it seems to really well done (even if I don't like some of the, let's say, design decisions too much, such as the preset selection and the entirely vertical layout). CPU useage is impressive and it seems to be quite up to the task of delivering reslly great sounds that go way beyond of what I've heard from the demos so far.
Gonna play around with it a bit more.

Cheers
Sascha

In the song "In a Mellow Drive".. on website (overloud) demo of Sergio Cruz

good lead tone .. ! the best distortion lead-tone in all demonstration!!

It lacks to final.. when the dynamic drop down.. and the sound can result a little bit "plastic".

But in general .. really good !!

Post

very good tone and playing indeed... definitely...
I love this warm sound... it's really a matter of taste though...

Sergio stated:
it's the (Bank 006) Modern Metal Bank - (Sound 06) Prog/ Metal Fat Solo > (Variation 3) Lead

so, Factory Bank 006 - 06.3

Yeah, that's a really good one.
The fun with TH-1 is that it can do so many good tones that are highly individual. Some stuff that Dimi did with it is stellar, too.
Some of the best and to me most useful presets I heard until now (man, there are so many!) are by Simone Coen. Great work, man!

Does TH1 improve any on RednefTwin?

I am liking TH1, at least the amp simulation aspect of it.

The other modules like the reverb family are really not that great.

Simon, will you guys be adding a mini VST host module that can be added to the chain?

I cannot work without that feature anymore. I have been spoiled by Revalver.

two suggestions that came to my mind after playing with the demo :

1) in the preset search window, double click on a preset or variation should load it

2) in the standalone version, add a full screen mode

3) when using mouse cursor to move sliders or knobs, the mouse cursor disappears on click down, and re appears on click release, on a location which corresponds to how you have moved you mouse. It should reapper where the clickdown happened, like its done in some ohmforce products

4) less cryptic names for cabs and mics

5) a way to minimize or get rid of the upper zoomed out view, or a way to zoom out a little bit and pan in the lower window using keyboard shortcuts instead of mouse, because when you have many stomps, its is a bit lengthy to scroll from the stomps to the amp, etc.

6) more fuzz pedals :) like in AT2 Jimi Hendrix

7) brutal amps :) :) :)

8) a whammy emulation

9) better look for the stomp boxes, they really look like behringer
plastic ripoffs :)

Apart from that this thing smokes everything else I've tried in my modest experience, yet it sounds , either too clean or too distorted, I'm having a hard time dialing in dirty sounds in the spirit of Dinosaur JR for instance, which sound a bit velcro fuzz like yet can palm mute properly.
he palm mutes come through allright, but I'd have to compare it to metal amp room some day, because the latter has been engineered specifically for palm muting, and some sound examples were really convicing

I just use the top section to select a piece and the bottom view instantly jumps to that piece in the chain. Or is that not a solution to your problem?

I do wish that you could resize the two middle sections so the zoomed out chain view took up smaller space to make room for the zoomed in view.

actually I like the way its done in pod farm, when the gui of the curently selected effet appears in the same place of the ui, you know where to go to look for params.

I was considering IK Amplitube Metal due to the number of stops they supposedly nailed like Amplitube Hendrix. How does the TH1 compare to IK in this regard?

Stomps: ATM > TH1
Amps: ATM = TH1

Hmm. I still use Simulanalog Rednef Twin along with A2 Stomps. I also have Scarbee VKFX which I understand was developed by Overloud. The sound difference between Amplitube's Twin and Rednef Twin are huge.

I was talking about the AT Metal amps. I recommend you download the demo and try it yourself (I believe it is fully functional for 10 days).
