I get 5 good synths from this thread a week, along with 10 simplistic, worthless ones.
On a mac, you have to go and buy whatever they have at Guitar Center for like $200 a pop.

I will admit that if i could afford to i would buy an 8-core Mac Pro G5 or whatever they are called because we use bootcamp with XP SP2 on both an iMac 2.0 Ghz Intel Dual Core and now a Mac Book Pro 2.6Ghz Intel Dual Core and it has been uber stable and as good as a dedicated Windows Machine RunBeerRun (a friend whom i collab with has the Mac's) and then i would have access to some of the Mac only stuff also > best of both worlds indeed. But their is no way i can justify spending that sort of money for the foreseable future. We did the Bootcamp thing so that i could bring stuff straight to his and vice versa without plug-in problems and he could not resist the wealth of options available on the Windows Platform (He does web design and graphics for his day job so i think thats why he uses Mac) > i would like the best of both worlds yet i can live without it (I always seperate Need and Want when money is involved! i would be screwed and in thousands of pounds debt otherwiseRunBeerRun wrote:I never understood the interest in macs, I hear they are actually more reliable. Although I don't experience crashes/cpu maxxing out.
I'll take my Winders with a side of Vista.
Regards and all the best

I don't think I would use a computer live, too many little notches for filth to get in.
You can get a Receptor for $900 often.

This guy made Rastabox and Blaster in Outsim Synthmaker. I haven't done these justice, so many plugs and I can only record one song or so a day.

Me neither. But as someone using Logic since ages, with hundreds of projects in Logic format, I almost had no choice.RunBeerRun wrote:I never understood the interest in macs,
And fwiw, as a Logic user you don't need *too* much further plugins. I have NI's Komplete in addition and I've hardly explored 10% of the potential of what I have at my disposal, yet.
Dean, no, there's no itching anymore (I removed my bootcamped Windows recently, still have a fully working Windows laptop with Cubase SX3 and Logic 5, though, I just hardly ever fire it up). As said, I'm missing some nice Windows-only gems, but really not much.
Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Sascha i doubt anyone considers that one a hijack friend (I mean some of the stuff that i post is erm very questionable. Like what do adult babies have in common with audio software? Answer = absolutely nothing
but its all good fun in moderation
)
Krim and edienk thanks for the krim blackmarket synth pack
- i had only 4 or 5 of them! now im fully loaded
Cheers guys
Dean
BTW: RunBeerRun - Next plug-in has got to include 'Mullet' in the title and a sweet picture of said Mullet centre stage dude. Like 'Penny Pinching Mullet Pride DIY' or something friend in honour of prior discussions surrounding the controversial cut!
Best regards Beer and take care man

Ok can't stand it anymore. U guyz are nutz, the Mullet does not rule. THis iz not the 80's fellas. The only thing worse than a dude wit a Mullet, iz a CHICK wit a Mullet.
Seriously, chicks wit Mullets will be the death of the universe (or at least this solar system). Unless yur a pro wrestler u don't need one.(apparently)
Besides, Devin Townsends' Mullet pwns all other Mullets in existence.
Not many can pull off the bald on top/ long sides thing with such grace.
As far as beer's GUI's, there fine wit me. A little freaky but, hella original. And yes I just said "hella".
Ok, totally useless rant OVER. Carry on gentlemen. Later
ps @NEKRO, for condoning the Mullet u lose approx. 1.2 million "cool" points
