The EQ sounds like a no brainer for sure, i use brainworx music bx_digital for the same job which this EQ can do. If you want more info on M/S processing on top of kim's excellent info go to: www.brainworx-music.de

This wont replace the above M/S Equalizer for me but if did not have it this EQ would of been a dream come true

M/S processing is so liberating once you get your head around it and i dont know how i would operate without it

GET THAT EQ PEOPLE! if you aint blown your freebie already :)

Great tips on exploring M/S EQ-ing! I agree that this feature alone distinguishes this plugin apart from most other EQs out there.

I do think that even with the tips you suggested that the CPU hit is a bit on the high side for a bread-and-butter track EQ, for which I'd be more inclined to go with a DAW-bundled EQ or the excellent Electri-Q posihfopit edition.

Instead, I see potential for T-RackS 3 EQ as a [stem, master, etc.] bus EQ, particularly when taking advantage of all the hi-def oversampling, similar to how Voxengo's Overtone GEQ is positioned in this regard.

I ran the T-RackS 3 EQ head-to-head against the original T-RackS EQ using the same preset(s) (the new T-RackS 3 presets are updates of the originals) and there is a *very* noticeable difference in tone, even in "low latency" mode. The low-end in particular seems subjectively rounder and more controlled. As Kim mentioned, aside from the stereo processing the major change is a variable bandwidth control for the 2 mid bands so this might be the contributing factor to the difference in sound. IMO, the overall T-RackS 3 EQ sound is an improvement on the original.

Finally! Someone is on the case... :D

Thanks for the ears on evaluation. Looking forward to the download...

Umm not only does it overwrite the demo , but if you have the full function Tracks3 the "freebie " EQ overwrites it !!! It did it to me , and I played the devil getting rid of the EQ. I had to blow both programs away and re-authorize my Tracks3 to get it back in order....
No help from IK on this ...

Apparently that is what will happen.

I still want to keep the demo even after it runs out because I will be evaluating it alongside the Vienna Suite mastering demo after Xmas sometime when I have the time.

TIA

I got the EQ since the other stuff is junk or I have it (SS2). I like the monitoring most, the eq is ok :]

Thanks KIM, I could never quite grasp how M/S works but I think your post makes it as simple and clear as possible to understand.

Do you think it would it be possible to instal it on another computer and then just drag the AU and Standalone app (and presets if needed) over to my other mac (which has the TR3 installed on it)? What else gets installed?

Does it prompt for authorization on start up or as part of the instal steps? .... presumably just when you launch the SA version or the plug.....

I've yet to decide between this and the Ampeg SVX UNO on offer; any feedback on these?
Get the EQ, I have the Ampeg SVX Uno (magware), it is a nice, tiny tiney bass-amp - so there's e.g. only one fx, chorus, available and you can't even tweak its parameters, so this UNO and Amplitube DUO stuff is more a slayered-down demoversion without noise-hisses than a real LE version IMO.

Post

sorry, thoshu, you're saying you can't tweak the Ampeg Uno, or just the chorus?
I'm a bit undecided between the ampeg (maybe too limited) and the EQ (already own many).
Thanks in advcance,

I downloaded Amplitube 2 DUO on this deal and I can't get the install to work (I really wante the Super Reverb model). I keep getting an error message about a problem with my computer's registry. I've run a registry cleaner on my system but still no dice. I've emailed customer support but haven't heard back.

Anyone else having any problems with this?
