Hey.
I'm using Toxic Bio 1.0.1 (VST) with Cubase 4.
i can get the link button to work and link the knobs to the software. but if i change a preset or load another instance i need to do it all over again.
shouldn't it be saved as a global setting or something like that?
do i really need to import cc map every time (theres no export cc map btw)?
Regards,
Stomper.

I don't know how linking works in Cubase, so I can't be sure. But how do you load the preset exactly? It could be that Cubase deletes any existing links if you load a preset from Cubase, as opposed to loading a preset in Toxic itself.

The instrument (preset) browser in Toxic?
If you reload the plugin, it's very well possible that Cubase deletes any automation links.

i don't think it's the cubase settings. everything is fine with other synths. (blue, predator, circle, abl2).reflex wrote:If you reload the plugin, it's very well possible that Cubase deletes any automation links.

Any news about this issue?
it's the same with Cubase 5 now.
its too bad im just ignoring this wonderful synth only to avoid linking the knobs each and every time.

I fear that TOXIC BIO is well dead. Visit the forums of Image Line, and you will see that user's messages are rare, most of them relate only the problems encountered during installation and functioning. The method of protection and installation are properly paranoid.
We can measure the health of a virtual synthesizer by the number of presets that users and sound designers want to create for the instrument. In this respect, the situation is catastrophic for Toxic Bio: On the net you can find no more than a dozen smaller banks of 6-12 new presets each... Another important sign: here on KVR, there is no one contribution for TOXIC Bio's presets!
OK, version 1.0.2 was released in November 2008 but has made no change or improvement.
My last experience with IL is the following: I created one hundred of new presets for ToxicBio and I decided to share them for free. When I visited their forums, I was surprised by the drastic lack of contributions and user's visits. Some forums (in the front of list) have not received a message from more than 3-6 months!
So I put my ad on my free presets in 4 to 5 of them (all about Toxic theme). The result is that within 5 minutes, I received a warning of an asshole that called moderator: he accused me of spamming of their forums! So I immediately deleted my messages and I whished him to continue to sleep and manage its empty forums in peace.
Over time, I gained some experience in health assessment of a software company. The very long time fot their responses, slow presence in the communication with users, few new versions ... All this comes with a wide variety of problems, which we - the users - are the only final victims.
Finally, another important concrete sign: this January 15, Synaps Audio (a German company) has announced the release of their TOXIC 2.5! You can go and see the skin of their own "Toxic"... this skin is very similar to the IL's ToxicIII !!! (http://www.synapse-audio.com/orionplatinum.php)
Longtime ago, Synapse Audio has released TOXIC II and III!! This may mean that the real author of TOXIC is not ImageLine, but Synaps Audio! Imagine that there are problems between these two companies, and you can make your conclusions on what happens !!!!!
With all this, I do not recommend anyone to carry out the acquisition of Bio TOXIC, and prudence of any other products of ImageLine! Myself I can cite the case of a company already dead - Arboretum (plugins Hyperprisme), who wanted to sell me their obsolete product, and certify me that I have right to the free upgrade in the next two months. And what happened two months later? The company went bankrupt!!
I have too many plugins and virtual instruments that are no longer updated, which are not more developed and that their authors no longer want to spend their time. I think we should say, to avoid being screwed by unscrupulous publishers...
Well, this is all.

Toxic was created by Maxx Claster, who now works for Image-Line and has created other synths such as PoiZone and Morphine as well.Miroslav H wrote:Finally, another important concrete sign: this January 15, Synaps Audio (a German company) has announced the release of their TOXIC 2.5! Synapse was given a license to use ToxicIII in Orion, just as we licensed Wasp from them for use in FL Studio and as a VST plugin.

I've asked Maxx to take a look at this, again.Stomper wrote:Hey Reflex,

I must say, though, that linking a parameter is usually a host function and it would be saved by the host. In other words, a plugin usually doesn't know about links between a midi controller and its parameters.
Unless you're configuring the midi links in the Toxic Bio "MIDI" tab itself?

Hi Miroslav,
I must admit, i dont agree with most of what you said.
why would a synth quality would be mesured by the amount of presets offered for sell?
personaly i dont look for presets, i mesured a synth by its sound and workflow.
IL is a big compeny, just because their forum is empty doesnt mean that it doesnt sell.
take http://www.serious-sounds.net/forums/index.php? for exemple. although its not the most actie forum, there are alot of FL users there, more than any other daw.
anyway, you can never tell which company is going to fall. even NI can go bankrupt because of bad managment.
one thing i would agree, is the lack of communication.
no offense Reflex, but come on, 3 months and i havent even got a 'sorry not possible' answer.
i think u also didnt understand the problem.
i can link the midi knobs to the synth. thats not a problem.
the problem is that the cc map isnt saved with cubase4/5.
i just find it hard to believe that it is saved with blue, abl2, cameleon5000, alchemy and others but becuase of cubase toxic bio cc map isnt saved.
ill appriciate if Maxx can check and confirm that cubase is the issue and not just assume it is.
if it is cubase, i have no problem with importing the cc map every time i want to do automation. but ill need an export cc map option before i could load it.

Stomper.
