What is the Point of Your Music?

I agree, this is a very interesting thread and I feel like I'm learning and thinking.

I am curious about the people who keep saying, "I don't give a f*ck about what anyone else thinks," here are two questions...

1) Should I give a f*ck about what you think about my music?

2) If everyone hated your music except for you, would you change anything about it?

1- No because they will think what ever they want, no matter if you care or not

2- You would probably change something because your are also a social animal...In fact it's our normal human behaviour to react to others and ajust, so we adapt better to the evolution...so even if we say we don't....I never saw somebody that didn't react unless nobody hear what he does...

Probably not. I wouldn't.

2) If everyone hated your music except for you, would you change anything about it?

Well, if you are trying to make money, you need others to like it, so in that case 'of course'.

But if you are creating something to fulfill an inner need, you are kind of stuck. It might well be sad if everyone hates it, it might even bring about an existential crisis (just ask Arnold Schoenberg about this). But that doesn't change the inner need.

I don't feel that any of the given choices apply. I just make music because I enjoy doing so. Most of the time I don't feel a need to let anyone hear it either (Which probably is why I've only posted one track in the music café, which was made out of short-term anger/frustration)

its working out nicely.. although the laying bit is just done by my gf
