Ocean Way and V Drums

I love the IMap!!!!
I need new great sounding drum samples.
I am confused about all the new SR options.
I have a wealthy drummer buddy who is looking to get some V Drums.
Does he need the TD20 brain to get the most out of Ocean Way regardless of the V Drum kit or can you get get great results from say the TD-3SW or TD12S or TD6PDX when triggering Ocean Way or does he specifically need the TD20 kit?
Are the new Drum Masters series optimized for V Drums?
Please tell us how to spend our money.

It will work with the others but TD20 and that advanced VH11 or 12 hi hat is programmed for so... to get the best out of the V-Drum mapping you might as well go for the top of the line V-Drum kit. That's what we made it for. It wasn't just a remap though, there was a lot of specific programming for position sensors of snare, tom, ride and hats.

Drum Masters will also have an update adding V-Drum programming too. Although, currently only Ocean Way Drums has that mapping. It is a fairly large amount of work mapping it in even I-Map so for Drum Masters that's how it is now (along with a GM map in the script). But a free update will come that includes patches for V-Drum. Obviously either the GM map or the I-Map will work with any drum pads if you map the pads to the kit. But... to have that proprietary programming specifically for the position sensors, it will have to be a future update.
