We've now also a RMV for Mac that should fix all issues which have been reported for version 5.0. Its still in beta test stage, and we appreciate your feedback.
Its available for download where it is indicated in your license mail.
Please report anything you find here.

Ah, this is lovely
the UI is loading much faster than XP..
I do have a UI bug to report tho - to recreate:
on the empty Loop1 tab click on
double-click a drum loop wav file to import
click on one of the segments and the sample browser disappears but leaves the image of itself between the segment window and sample window, where the scroll bar resides.
click on another segment and the sampler browser flashes up and disappears very quickly, again leaving a trail in the scroll-bar area
when i click on a segment which should be covered by the sample browser, the sample name which should be there appears and the segment is not heard.
and if accidentally double-click, the unseen sample is loaded.
Also, when choosing kits in the pad windows i do not see any details about the kits - everything is empty.
OSX 10.5.4
using the VST not AU
----
edit
I have now installed the loops, but on inserting the plugin Live, after a minute or so, asks 'Do you want to display this message for other missing samples?'
The first time I clicked 'No' and the circle-of-doom locked me out - I had to force quit after 20 minutes
The second time I am not able to click on either of the buttons in the 'samples missing; dialog box, just move it around. A 'Quit' from the tray icon closed it.
Third time, same as second.
Fourth time I clicked Yes and have had no response for the last 10 minutes.
I'm going to move the Loops folder out of it's current location; it seemed to be ok without them.

With a quick test I found out that the loading of the Drum sets was a lot slower than before. Also my host (latest ableton live 7) crashed while browsing the drum sets and clicking one.

Well, I hate to say it but, still no joy in PowerPC/Logic Studio land.
When the Audio Units Manager attempts to validate RMV, the validation crashes. I tried this three times with the same result each time. If I check RMV on in the AU Manager anyway, it is not available in the "All Instruments/LinPlug" Menu where RMIV shows up (nor anywhere else for that matter).
I have to vent a little frustration here. The Mac version of RMV has been lagging months behind in development. When the first beta was finally released, apparently the PPC code was missing (?). It simply was not recognized by my system. Now, a month later, only a second beta is available and, at least on my Logic Studio/PPC system, it still is a complete no-go. I understand the complexities and unpredictabilities of developing complex software but and how all sorts of unexpected problems and issues can greatly delay a project. However, I cannot help but feel that development of the Mac version is something that is of lesser priority to you guys and just is not getting the same time and effort that the PC version has gotten in its development. I feel very frustrated - especially since RMIV is very unstable to the point of unusability in my setup and has been since Mac OX 10.5 and Logic Studio 8.

From this end (Logic 8, 10.5, Mac Pro 2008) this new AU beta is behaving really badly.
It consistently crashes Logic when trying to switch pages from the top (pads/loops/set-up) tabs.
I can report the same behavior in Live 7 using the AU, though the VST seems to be more stable (I just had it bomb out on me whilst loading though).
The Send FX problem (where it would crash if you altered the effect type) from the last beta appears to be fixed
The data fields from the library pages are still mostly hidden/not working as they should.
The initial loading time of RMV seemed slower than last time.
Apart from testing the VST there's not a lot I can do right now as my main DAW is Logic. Hopefully they'll be another beta soon which will address these crashing problems.
Cheers,
Alan

Logic 8 OSX 10.4.11, MacPro quad core 2006, AU seems to work OK haven't tried it that much but it loads and loops can be added from my own library. I am in far east with a dodgy internet connection so can't download the factory content. Can't seem to connect to USA ftp site (asks for a password) and EU one times out (resets) after a while. Why did I move here

Tried reinstalling RMV Beta 2 to see if it would make any difference... still no joy with the AU version in either Logic 8 or Live 7... bombs every time.
VST seems to be stable and working fine though. (Apart from the Library display text fields not showing up).
(Logic 8.02, OSX 10.5.5, 2008 Mac Pro 2 x Quad 2.

I need to gripe a little here.
I feel very frustrated with the apparent lack of progress on the Mac version of RMV. The first beta was released almost two months after the Windows formal release. That version was non-functional for PowerPC systems. A month later, came only the second beta - and it was still non-functional for the PPC/AU version. I reported both problems here.
Now, about three weeks later, I have had no feedback whatsoever from Peter or anyone else at LinPlug. Whereas, on the Windows side, Peter is quite active on that thread, giving regular feedback and talking about a 5.0.3 release already while the Mac version has seen exactly two betas.
It seems, clearly, that the Mac version is not being given the same level of effort or attention that the Windows version has been given in development. I can't help but feel that we Mac users are just not a high priority for LinPlug where RMV is concerned.
Please convince me I am wrong about this.

Would have to agree here to a certain extent. It's frustrating because it's clearly a fantastic product (I've waited almost a year for it) but it does feel like the Mac users are getting the short stick.
I'm still having problems with getting RMV to work reliably as an AU. I got it to work for a little bit earlier on today...
It's strange, it feels like a car that you have to warm up first... from what i can gather if I load up some kits and trigger from the midi keyboard a while I can then load up sequences and get those to play kits. From then I can access the top page tabs without it crashing.
If I try to load midi sequences or change tabs or touch other buttons (mutes, effects, anything really) too quickly after loading it up in Logic/Live (tried Reaper too... didn't like that one bit!) it will bomb. This I can recreate every time.
Peter, if you would like me to send you some of the Logic crash reports I would be happy to.
Cheers,
Alan

Hey Peter, it has been nearly a month since my last post challenging you about the Mac version of RMV. No response from you or anyone else at Linplug. What gives?

Hi guys/gals,
I'm sorry for not giving you attention on this thread, but the last months we've been exhausted by preparing Mac versions of RM V and SaxLab 2 and all focus was on bringing them to life. It's not that Mac is not priority for LinPlug, it's just a simple thing that RM V is really complex instrument and it took it's time. It's unfortunate that we weren't able to make simultaneous PC/Mac release, but look at it from the bright side. You are receiving version 5.0.3 for start which has cured all childhood diseases, so it's nicely balanced. We'll still work on fine-tuning so if you'll find something that might be improved, feel free to let us know. We are listening, really!
Have a good time with RM V for Mac.
