frollo, I can host it if you like.

I'm also going to do my own mapping that doesn't match Greg's. The samples clear have keyswitching in mind and SFZ (and K2 :?) support it but the mapping doesn't take advantage fully. I'd actually like to have the same notes trigger either the snare off or snare on sample, depending on whether you've changed the snares over! :hihi:

I might faff with the hihat, too. And GM-ify it further. And make more toms with some pitchshifting. And generally make it not what Greg intended.

Greg, you okay with that? :)

Hi frollo,

Thanks so much. I've got it and I'm looking forward to putting the .sfz file and these great samples to good use.

Yeah definitely! You should share the SFZ/NKI patch--I can host it for you, if that would make things easier, too.

ok , so i'm not doing something right here.. downloaded txt file, rename it so it has .sfz after it, (but it still shows as a text file??) pasted into folder with drum samples, tried to locate with rgc sfz free player- it doesn't show up the sfz file tho!

Post

when i check its properties it says it is a .sfz.txt file.. i guess i have to get rid of the .txt bit somehow? I tried to load it in shortcircuit too but i couldn't find the file with that either.

You have to make sure that in the Windows explorer options, "hide extensions for known file types" is off.

So in Windows explorer, go "Tools", then "Folder Options", to the "View" tab, and then uncheck "hide extensions for known file types".

Then you can remove the .txt part of the filename.

thanks, i'll give that a go

Yes please!

this is the file http://www.speedyshare.com/206352583.html

and this is the version obtained by translation with chickentranslatorfree and little edited by me (volume, closed hats off open hats, etc) it sounds much more jazzy, and probably much more close to original nki patch from greg http://www.speedyshare.com/168558751.html

Yeah well, I *do* have Kontakt 3. But I prefer Battery a lot for anything drums for a variety of reasons. It's just heaps easier to deal with when it comes to drums.

Hey, thanks a lot! The mappings are OK... but why not use a GM scheme?

I've wondered the same thing myself, Sascha. Especially not that K3 has been out for a while, I'd think K2 support in Battery would be logical.
