Could this have anything to do with Logic's reset settings for, say, the ModWheel and other controllers?ZenPunkHippy wrote: When I press "play" in Logic, the first track, containing a Zebra kick drum patch, starts an octave higher than it should, although it's hard to tell if it's actually the pitch, or filter, that is causing the problem. Stopping and starting the project returns the kick to its regular sound.
You know, since version 8, something's has changed regarding that. IMO partially for the good, partially not so much. Just as an example: In earlier versions, when you had "reset controllers" turned off, it'd reset the controllers anyways for virtual instruments (so the function only worked properly for external MIDI modules), but with V8 it does at least not reset some CC messages in cycle mode anymore, namely the ModWheel - I could imagine this to have a certain influence on some other things, too. Just recently I observed some really strange behaviour with another plugin. The preset I saved even refused to sound the same on a preset reload, so I suspect something strange to go on inside Logic, as these things, while being more uncomfortable in some situations (such as the forced ModWheel reset), have at least been kinda predictable in previous Logic incarnations, whereas right now all sorts of strange things seem to happen just occasionally.
(I bet Apple will blame it on the plugin developers, though, business as usual...)
