RMV 503 bug reports

"It's like loop1 and loop2 sections visual mix and mess together; I previously reported as "previewing loops loop 1 loads them in loop 2 section, but now I think it's "only" some kind of nasty problem."

I've got the same issue. Also, the Library search function bugs out after a few queries. I hit reset and waited a while...maybe it's dumping the previous results from memory. Also loop 060-Chainy-C(NoSnare)...plays snares in its loop. I see that often in the names/descriptions.

1) I also wish the Search results would reflect the search criteria 'per loop'. Loop 1 is sorting through Drum Loops and Loop 2 is sorting through bass - switching back to loop 1 should go back to showing all the drum loops I queried before while keeping the search for basses under loop 2.

2) I wish there was a GENRE search field. I'll take a 'favorites marker' along with user key words...

3) POP UP context sensitive help boxes. Hover the mouse pointer over something and it should say what it is/does.

4) "H" Sync to host...I wish it would sync all it's own internal loops and play them from the start of the bar/16th/loop so it previews on beat. Right now, as stated above, it's loading loop 2 into loop 1 AND 2 at the same time deleting whatever was loaded previously.

5) I'm confused at the export function. It seems to ONLY have 1 export file format. So what's the difference between that LOOP format and saving the LOOP as another library file- if the file format is still a LOOP? Exort to wave seems obvious. I understand the licensing problems with a REX2 format export. I'd like the export MIDI and 'groove' to be in that menu too.

6) I'd like to be able to scramble/reorder/move around the slices WITHOUT an external DAW. That randomizer function would be great if it was used on the sliced drum loop too.

7. Muting Slices or even changing the velocity to Zero would work.

So far, it's a combination of AMG One (interface) NI Battery 3 (sounds) GURU (for slicing) and Stylus (loops)

We've not been able to reproduce this, can someone give me a step by step instruction, it just seems not to happen here.

Sure not, however, I would need a step by steop instruction here too. We got a couple of reports, but so far all turned out to be misunderstanding of combining the search criteria "match any" and "match all", or the "<*>" and other seach conditions.

I dont want to look like a ignorant, but here it seems to do exactly this, each loop has its own criteria and results. Or I miss the point.

I know, we discussed and tried this but where never happy with the result, because a) most kitd or loops fall into many cathegories and b) it seems everybody has a different idea about what drum loop belongs to what cathegory so we skipped that.

THats how the user fields are intended to be used, in example.

we have that on the lift, it might (!) come with a future update, depends on demand only.

Well, the "H" is just if it plays with the host at all, as at some point you certainly want it to NOT do that (and switch it off). I'll check the sync in conjuntion with preview again, maybe its not ok.

Its only for exchanging Loops with someone else using RMV, its not a file format translator or something.

I hear you, but we keep that to the host. We believe its pretty perfect to arrange the notes in the host for most people, though I'm also sure that for others its not perfect, I see that.

Sorry, I dont get this one. Generally if you change velocity to 0 in the host would indeed not trigger the slice.

The pads button only works once after you've cleared all pads.
Reproduce method (for me):
clear all the pads
open the sample browser (I used a quick browse folder)
select a few samples
click pads -> these are nicely spread out over the pads
open the sample browser on the first empty pad
select a few samples
click pads -> nothing happens anymore
I can still load samples one by one.

If you clear all pads the button will work again one time.

**** Today it's working fine. Something was wrong before because it wasn't even playing the loops on beat internally.- now it is. It's almost like you came over while I was sleeping and patched it.

Be gross about it. Very huge, broad categories.
I know electronic musicians are very anal about their sub-genres, but 4/4 drum loops should really be easy to classify.

I'd love any kind of unique method of creating variations to the pattern.
And of course a standalone version.

About the visual intermix between different loop sections I reported:

I just open a new project in SONAR 8, add RMV instance by creating MIDI and audio track and opening RMV GUI.

Then I goto loop 1 tab, click the "L" button, and start previewing loops by clicking on the "preview" button of each loop in the librarian loop list; every while, moving to loop 2 section I see that sometimes - haven't yet understood how to reproduce reliably - loop 2 shows waveform of loop 1; also, the filename shown on the waveform is not always there... Either I am missing something, or there's something wrong...

This happened to me last night with the loop thing. And discovered that it was the loop browser not really showing but it was there, and it was hiding the text for the loops. When I figured out how to close the browser all was fine. There is some kind of bug there, but, I don't know if I could reproduce it, I just noticed it last night and now saw Mabian's problem, I think its the same thing.

I will keep my eyes open during testing, probably something slipped through. In case you come across it again, please check if its "only" a visual thing. I mean, is Loop 2 playing Loop 2 and showing Loop 1 or is it the same really. Moreover, if its only a visual thing, what happens if you close and open the GUI again, is it fixed then. All this could help me locating something that happens only sometimes.
