Thanks!! Also, a big thanks to the people who have been converting the jazz drumset to other formats! I know it's a lot of work, so hats off to you guys.

In case you haven't heard, I'm having a big Christmas sale at Orange Tree Samples, so you can save up to $35 USD on my sample libraries until the end of December.

Also, soon I will be making a video demonstrating CoreGuitar Strawberry and all of its features.

Weird... I do get this: both versions of SFZ (as I don't have multi-threading, that's no surprise in itself). What's strange, is I don't get it with the samples loaded into <NDA>another sample player</NDA>, so it's not the samples!

When I get some time, I'll see if I can fathom out what's going on. Maybe over xmas.

Thanks that would be great!

Right... I'm onto something. It's not just our ears:

OK... On the normalised samples, these hit -1. This is the only thing I can think that could be causing the problem... I shall try compressing the samples lightly and see if that fixes it.

I applied
sox {filename} outdir\{filename} vol -0.0001 dB
to all the samples and the click seems to have gone. Like I say, it looks like it's probably an SFZ error...

(If you don't have sox, get it!)

Hi pljones.

Do you have the mappings for the working version of these?

What is sox?

Thanks

Post

There's no change to the mappings.

Sorry, dickiefunk, didn't notice your question about sox.

It's a tool for manipulating sound files. It lives here:
http://sox.sourceforge.net/
It's a powerful - and therefore necessarily complex - tool. But here you just need to trim the volume of each sample fractionally using the command line I gave above.

I used the GNU Bash shell to do it, because I'm more familiar with it than the Windows command line. Using cmd.exe, I think you'd do something like this:
cmd.exe wrote:cd {wherever the samples are}
mkdir outdir
for %f in (*.wav) do sox "%f" "outdir\%f" vol -0.0001 dB
mkdir ..\saved
move *.wav ..\saved
move outdir\* .
Aside from the line in bold, it's all just standard file management bits you could do through Explorer.

A late but nevertheless sincere - Thank you.

Thanks for the samples, Greg.
The rides are particularly nice - finally, some ride edge/crash hits that sound really nice.
I for one would *love* a more detailed (detailed as in more velocity layers, love as in pay for) sampling of both rides.

I've created my own NKM/NKIs for Kontakt 2/3.
GM-ified the mappings, put high-hat position under CC4 control, snare off/on under CC1, added a script to autoplay the snare lever noise when CC1 is 0/127.
Download
Kick
B0 - C1
* CC1 switches snare off (0) / on (127)
* I reversed the order of the kicks as I prefer the deeper-tuned one.

Snare
C#1 - E1
* CC1 switches snare off (0) / on (127)
* Snare lever noise plays when CC1 set to 0 / 127 - you can disable this by bypassing the script.

Toms
G1 / A1 / B1
* CC1 switches snare off (0) / on (127)
* I created an artifical low tom by detuning the 14"

Hats
F1-F#1 / G#1 / A#1
* CC4 switches open position
* CC4 switches pedal down to pedal splash when > 64

Cymbals
D#2 / F2 - F#2
B2 - C3
Cheers,
sk
