Fwiw, as I haven't bought it yet (I will, straight after x-mas), I've been faced with the expired demo version:

Gotta love it ;)
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

:hihi: ... brilliant!

that is too cool (like waiting thru the movie credits to see that they actually DID add a "tag" [see Ferris Bueller, or recently- Iron Man :hihi: ])
makes me wish I had waited to buy
...will be interested to see if there is a Christmas "Easter Egg", yes?

Would you prefer candles or a pack of Rizla?

That's the way it struck me as well... like PIXAR's "out-takes" after "Monsters Inc." (etc.).

I know the "environment", and how intense it is. Those kinds of "little-things" are little-kid "giggly-moments", that can make all the "work" an absolute "joy".

Joy is good.

Now I bought mine too early...
It's still fresh and green, making lots of wonderful noises. 8)

Synplant is my second not-that-cheap VST purchase this year after Zebra2.
I still don't regret buying Synplant. It's just different in a nice way.

I started playing with this demo yesterday (have the flu, need some entertainment). It is my favorite synth GUI ever, so much fun to create with.

I'm still not 100% sure I love the sound, though. Of course, my head feels like a pillow and my ears are plugged up...
I'll keep trying it. Which is easy to do because it is a brilliant VSTi, absolutely addictive. And solid, low CPU.
I'm going to try to track with it today, explore automating it, instead of just making preset after preset.

I feel like I'm getting a tiny glimpse into the future of music creation when I play Synplant.

Did anyone try to automate the Genes yet?

It really frustrates me there to sit here and not know how to do it even though it is possible somehow apparently grrrr. Such a rocking machine, but half worthless to me if I can't automate the genes :(

Post

when your demo has expired, wait till you authorize :)

afaik the genes can't be automated, but i'm not surprised, given the concept.

Having not used the demo for a while i fired it up again to have a play with, found a sound i liked, planted the seed and then i started going throught parameters to see how they affected the sound. I started to set all the parameters to 0 to start from scratch and suddenly i had this this deep, dark evolving drone. It's superb at creating atmospheric sounds, i've not heard anything like it before.

That's interesting, since as well in Live as in Logic I can only see the front page parameters in the host's controls view - not so the ones from the DNA page.
Is there a special trick to get access to them for automation?

...tempo sync for the branches would be very cool. 8)
