That is some dirty tactics and RBR IMO Buttplugs GUI's are pretty crap. On top of CPU munching shit GUI's They also offer to 'create you any custom plug-in you can think off for X-amount of money' IIRC: the stupid pricks
I would not of gone visiting them anyway but thanks for the warning about 'shitplugs' Jimi

as far as i am concerned, i am not crazy about starplugs stuff, i have it in my archive cuz it's free, and that is about the ONLY reason.
i wasn;t impressed with their sharewares i tried, either, and thios last action is enough where i won;t ever do bussiness with them, it seems sleazy as hell.

their gui's aren;t THAT good even, alot of freeware stuff that is as good or better looking, and DEFINITELY better sounding.RunBeerRun wrote:That's shady of Starplugs. They're one of those companies, that thinks because they make their own Synthedit modules(which are super high in cpu) and make profesional gui's, that it's worth paying for.
i mean, i am an easy going guy for a blood thirsty pacifist savage, but to me, any one that codes a form that leaves persistant info is a fuckin wanker.
not saying they should be boycotted, but maybe they should.

Yeah its the principle for me personally. Which consist's of - what RunBeerRun said, your frankly hackers/ID thieve's wet dream experience Jimi and what i think are wank GUI's combined that has done it for me (and that crap offer to do a custom plug-in on demand like its something so great!) is the icing on the whole shit cake
Starplugs/Buttplugs will never see me and i have also tried some of their commercial plug-ins from cover discs a while back and they were very bog standard at best
Moving on the AuraPlug Fuzz-Stone has now been announced with details and was not a muff alike which were my first impressions - more like an old germainium fuzz and its alright. Not as useful as the Red-Skull Distortion because off the top of my head these do the same thing for free and have beem around much longer: Camel Audio's Crusher & CamelPhat Free and also Audio Damage's FuzzPlus2 do the same job but better. Still its good for free and the GUI is pleasing enough and i have not used it extensively either

i hear ya mate, i posted about starplugs to everything else, dunno if anyone will read it.
i look forward to trying that fuzz, particularly if ya say it sounds like a germanium fuzz, that may come in really handy...i find using vst distortion on direct preamp'd guitar tracks really helps bring them to life.

I think it would be excellent as a sort of buffer or sparky warm break-up fuzz like you mention jimi between your pre-amp and disk as the the other free fuzz stuff i mentioned is not at all as subtle, this one has a better 'backed off a little quality' to my ears than the other ones (that as ya know is a good thing in a pedal and so is good in a plug-in too). I thought i should write about it a little bit as i did write about the red skull too. Think its a keeper too after a bit more fiddling with it - the cab emulation switch sound thingy sucks major dick thoughpinkjimiphoton wrote:i hear ya mate, i posted about starplugs to everything else, dunno if anyone will read it.

Seems I've diseased this fine thread.
So now I'll be waiting, with my .45 squarely at me temple, with bated breath.
Just say the word, an I'll let the wall be covered in "grey matter".
Where's the help hotline #..... here it is......1-800-jus-doit...wait..what!?
