- I rarely use freeware these days.
- I never quite understood the hype around synth1.
- I prefer digital synths to analog.
- I have no use for especially fat sounds.
- I still kinda idolize David Bowie.
- I thought Brittany Spear's Toxic was actually a rather catchy song.
- I own a copy of TaTu's 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane, and still get a bit of a kick out of it sometimes.
- I've got a ton of gear I never use and yet I'm unreasonably bothered by the thought of selling it so it just sits around unused...which also bothers me.
- Sometimes I still buy stuff hoping it will somehow make me feel more creative and inspired, even though I know that usually doesn't work...though thankfully I do that far less often these days.
- I don't write nearly enough music, mostly because I allow myself to be lazy and unfocused.
- I want to sing but I rarely try because I'm embarrassed at my crappy attempts at lyrics and my weak vocal abilities.
- I kinda want to try playing my stuff live, but I'm a bit nervous at the thought. I used to have stage fright, have concerns about the reliability of playing out with a computer even though it works fine at home, and I dread the idea of having to put up with arguments from other players, and their various addictions.
- I'm not impressed by DJs ability to play/crossfade other people's CDs. (Scratching or writing/performing their own stuff is different though.)
- I'm more impressed by composers than players.
- To me, classical music = cover band. Sure it's good stuff and it's important to keep the music alive...but those who devote themselves to only playing it are still just in cover bands.
- I haven't the slightest clue how to write something for brass that doesn't sound like crap.

- I don't envy anyone making a living from music / neither do I have a high respect for musicians or people in the music biz in all honesty (unless it's some form of classical/traditional music or performance)
- I can live easily for weeks without listening to music at all (doesn't have to be forced on me though)
- I think creating music is mostly overrated (grow into and grow out from etc.) - it's a nice hobby though

I copied the flying cock from a wall in Oldham.
Oh and I once did some music for a charity's advert that had, 'cuuuu-nnnt' going backwards all the way through it in the background. Forgot to take it out.......

I have solved this issue in my own life by wearing shoes around the house. Sounds stupid, I know, but for the last couple weeks, instead of being super-casual barefoot, I have been wearing my Adidas around the house, and I have gotten SOOO much more done musically than ever did barefooted. I don't know... Totally mental, sure. But it seems to work. For me.ugo wrote: - I don't write nearly enough music, mostly because I allow myself to be lazy and unfocused.

A few more for my list...
- I don't know how to use compressors correctly and I cannot hear any difference when making small adjustments.
- I pay very little attention to lyrics when listing to other people's stuff because my mind is focused on music, and voice just becomes another instrument. As a result, I misunderstand lyrics all the time and rarely put much thought into their meaning. The more I like a song, probably the more pronounced this becomes. (Which is probably how Underworld's lyrics can manage to not spoil their songs for me.)
- With all the synths available for free/cheap these days, I don't see the point in making/using samples of synthesizers unless they are being used for wavesequencing or as raw material for various mangling techniques. To just play back samples of synths seems to be missing the point of both the synth and the benefits of samples.
- I don't know how to program additive from scratch well enough to really what I am doing, but I can usually at least eventually find my way to creating cool sounds with it.
- FM is pure guess work for me. 50% of the time I can barely get the one type of basic sound that I like to use it for. Beyond that, I'm lost.
