Hi everybody!
I have been trying to get this bass sound, but i just can't get it right.
If anyone has the time i would be very happy to hear some suggestions!
if you skip to 1 minute you can hear the bass sound in all its glory.
thanks in advance
Aksel

I too have been wondering how to get this sound... Spencer & Hill remixes and Klaas use this similar sound ALL the time. i'd be glad to know how to get it aswell. everytime i take a shot at trying to make it i always end up with some other sound lol

There is a preset in Atmosphere under Synth Basses called 'Beefer Bass'
It's not exactly it, but it's damn close and could very well be tweaked if desired.

Any of the better softsynths will do this sort of sound. And for the record, I despise this cheap-sounding rippoff track.

4 osc, mix of saws and squares (I think). Tune them to a chord: root, fifth, octave, octave+fifth. Turn the filter envelope all the way up, fast attack, medium fast release, medium sustain. Turn on unison and detune a little, and add a really short delay. Gets 90% of the way there.

it's clearly PM/FM, probably square waves.

If you have a sound request for the SYTRUS PRESET FORUM, upload a TRIMMED mp3 example of it. Or name a plugin or soundset which has the raw sound. Then I can clone it for you.

Listening to it again, I think you are right. I don't know what you mean by "probably squares" because FM squares sound pretty nasty, but I think you are correct in pointing out that it's not subtractive synthesis.gustavokch wrote:it's clearly PM/FM, probably square waves.
I realized that the patch I explained earlier has the right frequency content and tonality, but the filter envelope used for the attack is all wrong, because I now doubt it uses filter at all. I'm going to experiment with FM and see if I can get closer, but I haven't programmed FM in a while and my skills may be a bit shaky.
I'd like to check out Large's patch, but since he's some kind of ImageLine Nazi, who never posts any examples or presets here but just links to the IL forums, I'm not going to even bother.

It links directly to the thread that has the Sexy Back preset that you can download.

After he said that I searched "Sexy Back" In the FL forums and found the thread... not that I need the Sexy Back bass sound or that I'd ever want to copy someone elses sound ever... except the Deftones drum sound ha haafreshcupofjoe wrote:This thread has nothing to do with Sexy Back.Large wrote:It links directly to the thread that has the Sexy Back preset that you can download.
