Cytomic 'The Glue' Compressor

Here is my interpretation using the beta of the Cytomic compressor. I thought you might want to hear it pushed a little harder. I have used multiple compressors and separately compressed the highs so they didn't overcompress as much. I could have got a bit of a better sound if it was more of a live recording. All the subtle variation would have added a nice bit of chaos. Having said that, in the mix this may be better.

As requested, here is a more clubby sound, well Trip Hop really. This is a Cloud Kollektiv groove I am writing. First is the non Cytomic compressor version, then I turn all the compressors on. Hear how the groove kind of sticks together as soon as they are on. It sounds more live and phat.

Working on them right now, expect them in a couple of hours. If you have a particular raw loop feel free to email it to: info atsign cytomic dotsign com.Alien Leg wrote:Maybe we could here some examples of dance drums as its getting tested right in that field!? Here are the first round of Electronic examples. There is a chunk of song that my friend drillbit already posted (http://www.cloudkollektiv.com/), some Micro Tonic loops (a great fully synthesised drum machine vst by a friend of mine Magnus http://www.soniccharge.com/mtonic), and a few from the classic Vengeance Electo Essentials sample cd. Each example contains the dry then the compressed signal, and I've padded the volume so the compressed version to roughly match the original even though the peaks will be less because it's compressed.Alien Leg wrote:Maybe we could here some examples of dance drums as its getting tested right in that field!? There will be a screenshot with the press release in the next week or so. I'm doing the graphics and I have some friends that are graphic designers to help out with logos and type.K-Slash wrote:Can you show us a GUI teaser ^^.
By the way who's the graphics designer, just to know ?

My attention is now engaged, Abusing software always sounds bad up against its analogue counterpart from my experiences. If you pull off the sounds good under abuse/straining stuff (obviously somewhat program dependent and to an individual taste of course) then along with the very open, friendly and straight up manner you put forward (and a fair price by the sounds of it) - your on to a winner Andy IMO friend. Looking forward to your worksshogger wrote:I think you've got some real attention now.andy_cytomic wrote:Btw, you have picked an excellent example - slow attack, high ratio, fast release, kick heavy drums, this will bring out the worst in many compressors. I have loops like this, but if there is a particular one you have in mind please email it to 'info atsign cytomic dotsign com'. I actually would prefer to use a ratio of 10 to really push the compressor more. It is exactly these types of condition I have paid close attention to in my model, I like abusing and pushing equipment as much as possible and getting it to bend instead of break, 'cause that's where so much cool sound is.
All the best,
