Wow, I only suggested this like a year ago!

Cool that you decided to do it, though, squids, bravo.

I found out about this this A.M. and tried to sign up. However, it doesn't look like I'm in the actual beta test. But there's no email confirmation or other note indicating that the beta is closed.
Can anyone confirm this either way?

Can't confirm, seems at the time this was posted here it is already filled. Boooooo. Didn't get an email or anything. Disappointed and kind of weird that a preset exchange really needs a beta? Hopefully that means it will be feature-rich but I'd just like to see something, anything put up.

I got in on the beta yesterday at #150. They were only accepting 250 for the beta program.
Its fairly basic in design, which is perfect. Easy. However, at this point your not missing too much. Its mostly factory presets that you likely already have. Only a handful of user presets at the moment. There are also Moderator and VIP presets. I think VIP is possibly for artist users to post, like Neil Zaza for instance, but I haven't seen any of those yet.
My one peeve at this point is that I can not download any presets that use Amplitube 2 Live. The system is set up to see what products you own and only allows you to download presets which use your "gear". THat is all fine, but forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't Amplitube live a budget version of Amplitube 2? I have all the amplitube products except Live. Its a bit of a marketing ploy in this aspect as well, because if you try to download a preset which uses gear you don't have, it gives you a buy it now link for the product your missing. I found too that a good majority of the moderator created presets actually use Amplitube Live as well, so I could not download any of them.
All in all its good to see this finally up and running.
FYI, If any one is interested, there is a great site called guitarampmodeling dot com that has a forum set up for all amp sim products. Lots of good info and pres there too.

That's what I thought, and hoped, but it let me download a preset that uses ATME, which I don't have. Strange thing is, it wouldn't let me download some of the others.NTR wrote:The system is set up to see what products you own and only allows you to download presets which use your "gear"

Well, I'm in now too, but I don't think I'm a beta tester. The instructions indicated that there was a specific beta entry button.buscemi wrote:Yeah, must have been a glitch I got in now. Will have to poke around later.
So maybe they opened it up?
In any event, it is a great idea, and long overdue. I particularly like how the preset list has the actual preset routings listed BEFORE you download the patch. Pretty cool.
IK TAKE NOTE:
ALSO OVERDUE ARE PATCH EXCHANGES FOR SAMPLETANK, SONIK SYNTH 2 AND EVERY OTHER PRODUCT IN YOUR ARSENAL. WE, YOUR CUSTOMERS, LIVE FOR THIS STUFF. NOTHING WILL WORK US UP INTO A FRENZY FASTER THAN THE PROSPECT OF AN ORGANIZED PRESET SHARING COMMUNITY.
That. Is. All.
Cheers

Hmmm when I got in, right below the link there was text that read something like "200 spots still available" so that led me to believe I was in as a beta tester. No biggie to me either way, though I like feeling special

Thanks Dave....
I am glad I checked out this thread again for I too thought I was "OUT" by being too late. I am now in and this looks like it could be a good resource if there is a way to separate the wheat from the chaff.
