What is the best Mellotron sample library

I've heard the Pinder samples, the MTron instrument, the E-mu samples, and various 'free' samples over the net. The Pinder library is noticeably the best, though the others are good.
Anyone know if you can fit the Pinder samples into the Blofeld keyboard. I keep thinking about this.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I think I am going to go for the M-tron Pro as my only tool for this.
I'm not that of a fanatic, although I did spent countless hours listening to
all this music when I was a teen. I was and still am a Genesis fanatic...
(Squids?) but anyway, I think that should be good for now. Maybe after this I will be a fanatic
Thanks,
E.

I just tried importing one of the sample sets into SampleTank. It worked fine, so I guess you're good to go.buscemi wrote:I will have yours soon. Thanks I will try that. I didn't notice but I'm surprised that there doesn't seem to be a way to define the range beforehand from what you are saying...taijiguy wrote:I just tried importing one of the sample sets into SampleTank. One thing I noticed is that SampleTank seems to take the highest and lowest note and stretch them beyond their normal range onto the remainder of the keyboard. The brass sounds OK, especially the low notes, but the strings don't sound so good.

Sounds good, but do many people use Halion?bioLogic wrote:taijiguy's are great. Speaking of which, would you be interested in a HALion mapping for your site, taijiguy? I could also host it myself with your permission. But HALion mappings are obviously quite small.

As I've learned recently, Tajiguy's samples make good fodder for Alchemy.

Cool. I am sure it's good. That's not the one I did, SampleTron is (and Squids Tron). But I don't think you can go wrong either way.teomi wrote:Thanks for all the replies guys.

If you like Genesis we just sampled Tony and Mike's vintage instruments at The Farm last month along with a recreation of several Collins-esque drum sounds with Nick Davis and Hugh Padgham. That will be coming out in 2009. Goes nicely with our Mellotron sounds and other stuff all of which will be playable in our new plug-in called "Infinite Player" (from Sonic Reality).

No, definitely not compared to Kontakt, but I'd wager the number of users is similar to SampleTank. And the folks at Steinberg are working on HALion 4, which should boost the user base, since there hasn't been a new version in like 4 years!taijiguy wrote:Sounds good, but do many people use Halion?bioLogic wrote:taijiguy's are great. Anyway, the samples are free, so the more (formats) the merrier, right? Not that it's oh so hard to map these oneself...

If it works in Halion Player too, I'd download it - I know I use Precisionsound Halion mappings in Halion Player without issue.taijiguy wrote:Sounds good, but do many people use Halion?bioLogic wrote:taijiguy's are great. The more formats, the better. Thanks for offering to do the Halion format.bioLogic wrote:No, definitely not compared to Kontakt, but I'd wager the number of users is similar to SampleTank. In case anyone is interested, I did some unprocessed comparisons between my M-Tron Pro and my Pinder CD:

For this one, rather than using the Watcher mixes in M-Tron Pro, I mixed the MkII Violins and MkII Brass; same with the Pinder samples:
