I will provide links to each in a bit and demos will be posted by tomorrow...

RingBeat MT Kit 1

This is a sampled vintage 60's Ludwig Downbeat Keystone Badge Black Oyster Pearl "Ringo" kit! It even has The Beatles logo on it. This is a multi-track kit with discrete mic mixing that matches the Beatlesque multi-track loops of RingBeat MT Grooves. This kit is more of an open sound where you hear a bit more ring of the toms than other Beatlesque kits we're releasing soon that have various muffled "tea towel" kit sounds. Both are nice to have. With this one you hear more of the tone from those vintage Ludwig drums and in a nice room for mixing in a larger sound similar to what could be done at Abbey Road.

RingBeat MT Grooves

Here you have variety of multi-track grooves with discrete mic mixing control for every mic. The grooves are played in the style of Ringo Starr and The Beatles. They can be creatively used for a variety of different styles of music that call for a 60's pop/rock "British" sound.

Bonzo Beat MT Kit

I just watched a Led Zeppelin concert DVD last night and WOW they were so good. John Bonham is a MONSTER!!! So I got excited about playing the Bonzo Beat Kit today. Here's some info on that:

The Bonzo Beat MT Kit is a multi-track drum kit in the style of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin. It is a wood kit as opposed to the clear Vistalite kits that Bonham also played. This is the signature kit that Ludwig has to the specs of the original Bonham kit used around the time of their fourth record. It has a very natural warm but HUGE sound. A similar miking was used in a large room for the right thunderous tone. Tube U67 ambient mics give it "that sound" and since you have discrete mixing control of the mics you could process the room mics with a compressor/limiter plug-in such as T-RackS 3 Deluxe (not included) and find yourself transported back in time to the 70's for a larger than life rock drum sound.

Bonzo Beat MT Grooves

The Bonzo Beat MT Grooves are multi-track grooves that go along with the Bonzo Beat MT Drum Kit. You have signature grooves of classic tunes in this including When The Levee etc. Great fun to run this through T-Racks 3 Deluxe and its Fairchild!

British Rock MT Kit BR3

The British Rock MT Kit "BR3" is the third kit done in the "British Rock" portion of the Classic Rock Session collection. Like the RingBeat and Bonzo Beat kits, this too has a vintage rock sound in the style of classic bands from the 60's & 70's. This third general British Rock kit is ideal for a variety of sounds in the style of The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and more. Its multi-track discrete mic channels match up to the British Rock MT Grooves.

British Rock MT Grooves

These loops go along with the British Rock MT Kit "BR3". They are in the style of a variety of British Rock bands from the 60's & 70's.

Classic Rock MT DWPacific

The general purpose Classic Rock MT Kit is a sampled DW Pacifica kit recorded in a lively stone room. Unlike the British Rock BR3, Bonzo and RingBeat kits from the Classic Rock Sessions bundle, this fourth kit has a higher snappy punch to the snare and toms as opposed to a deeper thud from the British sounding kits. Its discrete mic channel mixing matches up with the Classic Rock MT Grooves.

Classic Rock MT Grooves

These multi-track grooves go with the Classic Rock MT DWPacifica kit. You get a very broad selection of classic rock grooves from all over the world and spanning the 60's through the 80's with beats in the style of Metallica, Aerosmith, Boston and many more.

Motown Soul MT Kit

This multi-track sampled vintage Gretsch kit matches up with the Motown MT Grooves 1 and 2 and also the Classic Soul MT Grooves. It is a punchy R&B kit that can be processed to sound like you're listening to an old Motown record or used for a modern sound all depending on how you blend the mics and use effect plug-ins on independent mic channels (try running it through a plate reverb!). Original miking from the era was used to capture the authentic sound of R&B and soul. This is part of the Rhythm & Soul Session collection in the Studio ProFiles series.

Motown MT Grooves 1

These are a variety of multi-track grooves in the style of 60's Motown records. It is like a recreation of the session master tapes with not only drum grooves but additional percussion such as the foot stomps, snaps, claps, tambourines, congas and more! So many people for years have been trying to sample these old records but can't use it. With the Rhythm & Soul Sessions you not only have access to authentic recreations of these grooves but you can also mix and produce it with total flexibility of tempo, feel and sound. Motown MT Grooves 1 are slower tempo grooves mostly under 100 BPM.

Motown MT Grooves 2

A continuation of the Motown MT Grooves, these are faster tempo beats (mostly above 100 bpm) as opposed to Motown MT Grooves 1 which is slower tempos.

Classic Soul MT Grooves

Drum grooves in the style of classic Staxx and Atlantic records, James Brown, Marvin Gaye and other classic soul artists.

Blues MT Drum Kit

We call this the blues kit because it matches up with the Blues Multi-track Grooves. But this is one of the best sounding drum kits in the series and a great all purpose, multi-style kit!

Blues MT Grooves

These are the most detailed grooves for the style of Blues ever made. They are in the style of classic Chicago Blues. You have many variations of shuffles with and without hi hats and snare, build ups and other useful elements for the styles of rock, blues, jazz, R&B and more. They are multi-track grooves with discrete mic mixing that line up with the Blues MT Drum Kit.

NDV MT Grtsch Kit

This is a sampled Gretsch Kit done during the Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis, Tears for Fears, Kevin Gilbert, Spock's Beard) Studio ProFiles sessions at Mower Studios. The room of this studio was modeled after the Townhouse in London where Peter Gabriel recorded his third album and where Phil Collins recorded "In The Air Tonight". It is a 5 tom set tweaked by Ross Garfield of Drum Doctors to have a "Collins" type sound with dramatic tone range in the toms and a huge room sound which, if you like, can be processed discretely with plug-ins. Try using the FREE SSL Listen Mic Compressor or emulations of an 1176 for a very authentic sound in the style of Phil Collins and Hugh Padgham. This kit was done on its own with no connection to any groove session. The snare of this kit is more of an early Collins/Bruford type sound with some ring to the rim shots and a sound that can really cut through the mix. It's very expressive and one of the best sounding kits for the Infinite Player.

JB Session MT Kit Sonr

This is a sampled multi-track Sonor Drum Kit done during the John Blackwell Studio Profiles sessions. It doesn't have any grooves that match it. This was just recorded for the playable kit on its own. It has a very diverse range and is deep and punchy. It can be used for a variety of styles from pop to R&B to hip hop to rock... A really great modern sounding kit with a natural wood sound and a very good ambient room channel and a variety of discrete mic channels to get that perfect blend.

NDV ST Grtsch Kit

This is a stereo version of the sampled Gretsch MT kit.

JB Session ST Kit Sonr

This is a stereo version of the sampled Sonor JB Session MT kit.

These are the same as the Sonik Capsules of the same titles but they work in the Infinite Player format.

OmniSoundz 2 Deluxe GM Set (2 gig)

This is a 2 gigabyte sized GM set featuring a wide variety (like a workstation) of instruments in the GM standard set (pianos, guitars, bass, strings, winds, world and more). A great all around set to have for the Infinite Player!

Deluxe Grand C7 Piano

This is the same as the Premium Grand we did for M-Audio (that sells for $99 on its own). It's a triple strike 300 meg Yamaha C7. A beautiful sounding piano that is the first of many individual high quality instruments coming for the Infinite Player and the Infinite Instrument Series.

What makes Omnisoundz 2 different from the original Omnisoundz?

IIRC, the original Omnisoundz is based on the same samples as Omnisynth, which was released with a player in ST1 format.

My copy of Omnisynth is 707mb. I've also noticed that when looking at the same sounds in both ST and Kontakt format, that Kontakt is significantly smaller. This is probably due to sample reuse in Kontakt where appropriate, because ST uses a monolithic format.

Based on this, I would guess that a 2GB GM set will be 3-4x as big as the original Omnisoundz/Omnisynth.

I figured as much...I have Omnisynth as well. To be honest though, some of the old Omnisynth stuff sounds a bit 'long in the tooth' by todays standards of sample quality. That's why I was asking...I was hoping Squids would chime and give some more details about the new library. And why are there no audio demos up for it on esoundz? Of course, I wouldn't want to buy a $99 sample set without hearing it first.

My Omnisynth (ExpantionTank) is only 287mb.
Are there different versions?

I have three directories under Omnisynth:
- Pro GM Set (285MB)
- Pro GM ECO1 (246MB)
- Omnisynth Alt (143 MB)
Total = 707,572,656 bytes (which is really 674MB * 1024 * 1024).

Mine came from the CD distribution, not a downloadable version, and I installed everything on the CD.

For what it's worth, I could probably build (for personal use) a really nice GM sound set from the ST2/SS2/Philharmonik/group buy stuff I have.

You're right about the monolithic format of ST re-using samples. The original OmniSoundz/OmniSynth is only about 300 megs or less. So, OmniSoundz 2 is actually over 7 times the size of the original.

Makes sense. We'll get some audio demos up as soon as we can! A lot of people want to buy it based on what they come to expect from us though. OmniSoundz/OmniSynth was quite popular and some sounds were and still are really great and others are... more GM like I guess you could say. With OmniSoundz 2 there is a more broad increase in quality. Some sounds make a bigger difference than others. The big difference is mainly the acoustic instruments are a lot better and some of the electrics too. The synths are more or less the same type of thing, just a little larger in some cases. Bird tweets have not improved. ;)

I think if you're buying the Infinite Player such as in the group buy then it is a no brainer (because for $99 you get Infinite Player and a choice of 5 other things which INCLUDE OmniSoundz 2... might as well get THAT while you can! At that point that makes OmniSoundz 2... what? $20? Take a chance!!!! ;) ). But, obviously that deal won't be going on forever so when you want to invest $99 in a product and wait for demos first that is totally understandable and we've just released maybe 70-80 products in the last month so we've got our hands full doing demos!!!!!! Also we're late on product descriptions, images and all sorts of stuff. Mostly my fault because I went traveling/sampling last month and would have normally been doing this. I'm catching up this weekend though. I might be able to get some OmniSoundz 2 demos done as well. I'll try! I can use some help making demos to be honest. Half price to anyone who wants to make a killer demo! Haha. (I'm serious)

Yes, that's right. The ALT sounds too. So 450 megs. The ECO is just a smaller version of the first set... not even that much smaller although I think it used "2 Pack" in ST which made it smaller when loaded into RAM. But the samples are the same as the first Pro GM Set.

Well, either way, it is many times larger with OmniSoundz 2. Better in a lot of areas and more well rounded. Yet has the qualities that people liked about Omni 1.
