Hate to take issue with you Krim, but this response shows a lack of depth on just how this emu came about, and the time and talent involved - a lot more than just slapping the original wavs into a program. Or were you just pushing the point to be a wiseacre? I wish there were no legal issues with SQ8L. The product is so great.

i think you fail to understand my point...ever seen a thread about how VA's dont really sound like hardware? prob due to the fact that one is analogue, the other is digital??? blah blah etc?1-2-Many wrote:Hate to take issue with you Krim, but this response shows a lack of depth on just how this emu came about, and the time and talent involved - a lot more than just slapping the original wavs into a program. whereas this is a digital synth, that had the ROM available, so was a hell of a lot easier to get it to sound the 'same' as the original than say an emulation of a moog or korg synth..
i guess you kids dont read so well...or you're bored...

You do know that ESQ1/SQ80 is not only digital ?Kriminal wrote:i think you fail to understand my point...ever seen a thread about how VA's dont really sound like hardware? prob due to the fact that one is analogue, the other is digital??? blah blah etc?1-2-Many wrote:Hate to take issue with you Krim, but this response shows a lack of depth on just how this emu came about, and the time and talent involved - a lot more than just slapping the original wavs into a program. Take a look here if you is a bit interested into a better understanding of why SQ8L is not just a simple rompler, and why some people here is "bored" by your comments...

the esq-1 has digital oscillators, but the filters are analog, really creamy, beautiful filters really. So, though a digital workstation, it has a great VA sound. VA hardware goodness can be had for ~150$ in the average pawn shop!

im well aware of the SQ80(and its 'lengendary' curtis chip filters)..i used to have one, along with an EPS16+, so i know exactly what it is and isnt...you dont seem to realise what im saying..im not critising the vst or the original, im just saying its not suprising you think its the best emulation of a hardware synth because of the factors i mentioned...olepro wrote:

yeah, right, but the dev. disappeared almost completely ... and no updates and necessary bug-fixes for more than a year.steponeloops wrote:Sincerely, I think Krishna Synth doesn't get the merits it deserves.

Anybody post Sugar-Bytes Unique yet? Absolutely fabulous!
Krishna is hot. But, on my dual core mbp, I could only use one instance, and slaughter my cpu. I was trying to buy that synth, on the pay-plan, but got entirely frustrated with its cpu limit.
There is no doubt Krishna is amazing though. If I find myself with an 8 core machine, and Krishna with extremely functional parallel processing support, I consider trying to buy it again.
Anyways, It is certainly not the synth that makes music, but the music, that music.
