A great example of what works for you may not work for others.

I really tried to like the K4R, but I found it fairly meh at the end of the day. The K1 with its 8 bit waves and no filters had a lot more personality to my ears than the K4 with its 16 bit waves and digital filters. In the K4's defense, the filters were really good for digital filters of that era, and the additional outputs with the R model made it useful in a lot of situations.

I've got a K4R in one of my racks; I don't think I've turned it on in five years :?

This is very true indeed EW.
What works for one may not indeed be viable for another.
The K1 could do some awesome strings for example.
I always liked the tonality of the filters combined with amplitude modulation, it was capable of some way rude noises and then some but I have since sold mine on and gone software.

I asked them about a Group Buy a couple of years ago I think and they weren't interested. Seems Helga has since slipped off the radar screen. Shame.

i sent them a few mails over the years, but since the beta days, or just after it was released, i never heard anything back, and i know they had some other stuff in the pipeline... :?

Hmmmm the Kiesel Software site is still there although it appears to be in transition. Still think Helga would make a great Group Buy. :)

YES ! Group Buy please ! It sounds absolutly beautiful, but the site seems down...Ironically, the two most beautiful synths in my view (this+Astrobelt) are not available any more.

Well deffo

Softplug's Adventus, shame its more abandonware than anything now. I'd love to get it, but can't.

Image Line's Morphine, very underestimated imo.

And good old V Station, maybe not underestimated, but certainly under mentioned.

But Oatmeal without a doubt one of the most underestimated, and since i've found out about the better skin, i'm using it loads more now.
