I hear you. Unless this stuff is addressed soon I think I'll be selling. Does anyone know whether the licence is fully transferable?

Actually... that just pops up an HTML document opened in notepad. I edit HTML in notepad so I'd have to change my associations to fix that. Couldn't you build in the checking into the program itself?

Also there ARE in fact problems with 1.0.2 that haven't been addressed. I know this for a fact because I've reported one!!! Tech support even acknowledged it. "Obie Snow Swell" simply causes a huge burst of noise in FL unless you change the filter settings. It otherwise completely messes up the audio buffer and forces you to restart the program. I sent a project file in, as a matter of fact, to prove it.

It's not an XP limitation. It's a 32 bit limitation. XP can use all the RAM that 32 bit allows.

Do you mean within the 'manual'? This doesn't work for me.

Should be built into the VSTi or, as I say, it should be an email notification. This would be the least intrusive and is what many other vendors do. But as updates haven't exactly been prolific I guess the point is moot.

Omnisphere includes an automatic update checker built into the plugin. Just click on the logo on the plugin to go to the credits page and click on "Check for Updates". It will show your update status for software, patches, and soundsources. If you're uncertain where to click, see the "Getting started" video on your install disc no. 1 for detailed instructions.

How long did Spectrasonics say this thing was in development? Really, we're all just beta testers in the end  Just wish it didn't cost so much in time, effort, frustration and $.

Oh yeah, because EVERYONE is clearly having tons of problems, eh?

Why do people use that silly argument when a particular plugin has issues on some people's systems? It's not possible to test all situations. Things happen, no software company will get around that.

Of course, if you take a few complaints on a forum like KVR as some sort of representation of the entire user base, then you have the wrong perspective.

Sure. You're right. You should take all pages of complaints on Northernsounds into account as well.

Pages of complaints? Almost all of the issues that have been reported there since the release have been resolved when the customer consulted the FAQs or contacted tech support.

I have to admit, I don't visit kvr as often as I used to when I developed Crystal, but there does seem to be an eagerness to believe the worst that didn't used to be here.

I'm not sure if they fixed this in 1.0.2b, but in the previous version clicking on "check for updates" crashed Live every time. Now that's ironic.

I said a forum LIKE KVR. As in, getting all your info straight from internet forums will soon cause you to be seriously delusional. It's nowhere near accurate.

Sorry, doesn't matter what forum you're talking about. It's still the same.

Omnisphere drags my x64 SONAR to a complete halt. I've stopped using it until an x64 version comes out. And given the RAM requirements of this beast, this should be a PRIORITY for Spectrasonics.

I knew exactly what you meant. It's called sarcasm but with a good deal of truth thrown in too :)

KVR has developed quite a negative vibe these days. Everyone feels screwed over, developers are just greedy and don't care about customers, and if a company is semi-large or popular in the pro ranks, they are just ripping off their customers and taking home millions.

At least that's the vibe I get. It's 'popular' to stage a public outcry around here, regardless of whether there is logic behind it or not. If you slip up as a company and let a bug go by on a commercial product, it's instantly "pfft, we're just beta testing now- they should have spent more time testing this buggy piece of junk!". It's kind of funny after a while.

Now, I'm sure there will be many who come and disagree with me. They are entitled. Just doesn't make them right.
