For a few seconds I thought this was a list of confirmed bugs coming along with the v 2.5. :hihi:

Has jorgen still not said what will be different about the "new" version? If not, I wouldn't hold your breath.

There's a cynical part of me that says the version number jump to 2.5 is to say "NEW VERSION!" and charge an upgrade fee (i.e., bring in new revenue). I have no reason to actually believe this, just nasty experiences with software companies in the past.

Previous Experience with XT2s development leaves me with very little in the way of expectation but i doubt very much it will be a paid upgrade.

If Jorgen was going to do that i think he would have done it with 2 when it was released.

I think we just need to wait and see what happens.

The only really puzzling part in my mind is the timing, It will be day one of NAMM and i'm assuming Behringer will be there showing it off, So if it isn't a huge update with lots of new features it is going to be seriously overwhelmed with all the other releases we can expect from NAMM.

So in reality even though im supposed to be a downer around here about anything to do with XT2 i actually do have a very very small niggle in the back of my head saying this could be a biggish update.

We shall see

maybe we can do a poll in the meantime "how many of you think that the 2.5
update will fullfill the basic needs you expected from xt2 in a dependable way"

a guy here who works for xt said it will be free.
but watevar, f**k, although i have about 2 dollars on my bank account [im a student] i would buy the new update if it delivers some important shit.

[like correcting the inconsistencies, multicore support, bigger bugfixes etc]

You want to get that seen to. :P

I'll be pleased if it works well anyway, plus one or two little things for now. :)

I think not. the price has already been decreased to 50€ so I don't think they'll raise right after the update/upgrade.

also, I'm not worried about showcases at NAMM. from my experience of doing a workshop for xt, people were pretty impressed by the overall workflow, functionality and its low price considering features.

XT2 was always 49 euro's $75 (XT1 was $49)

i'm not banking on a lot in this update as jorgen has put a lot of time into securing the future of XT Software, (but i hope i'm wrong)

but i do think 2009 will be a good year XT :)

I thought it was 75 in euro money :D

I don't know what will happen with my brain if 2.5 JUST get a new status-Final, and without any important updates.
:help:
