You're a popular guy in the KVR plug-in world, so 3K isn't all that suprising.
By the way, I see that you use two spellings -- bootsie and bootsy. Any preferences?

Well, considering he was expecting ME to read the manual, I might point out I actually quickly browsed through the thing (cursory reading, so probably missed a lot of stuff) before I actually copied the .DLL into my VST plugins directory... and left the manual into the ZIP file into the temporary directory that Firefox used, that I don't know what it is, and which hopefully will be cleaned up by some process at some point.deaf dunderkwac wrote:wtf you expect us to READ the MANUAL!!!111!!bootsie wrote:
Yup, some ER's are more spread and not that centered. Use PLATE or ROOM1 for the most centered experience, I think it's briefly mentioned in the manual.

I laugh at your description of the process, as that happens often (lost in the ozone in some unknown directory on a hardly-ever observed portion of a harddrive)
Much freeware is sans manual.
in the day I always read the manual... probably because it was the only way to understand the circuitry used blah blah blah.
Nowadays I only check out a manual if something works (to my way of thinking) oddly.
Reverbs are always an oddly bunch because(seems to me) their development is done with as much art as science - sometimes...mostly...maybe.

3000 downloads !! you should have charged a tenner each.
you could be lolling in the bahamas by now!
I'll give you my tenner if you can get this AMD SSE bug squashed

No problem! I will say that despite the shortcomings and issues with SM plugins, this is one of the better ones, if not the best. Great freebie indeed. I'm always weary about using SM stuff myself because of their load and I really am set with most plugin types. But this is worth trying out at least.grymmjack wrote:ah.. thx brent.

Hey grymmjack, no disrespect to Bootsie, but will there be any chance of a Designer Monkey skin for Epic-Verb....
- Your GVST Suite skinning style would make this THE best SM effect
Sorry Bootsie, I just had to ask, Great reverb btw

@brent; i concur. 5% max CPU, pretty fast loading. this one is a keeper. of course i've got a quadcore, so 5% of that is kinda high for older machines prob. i just tried it in orion. im a humble man and admit i am wrong about /all/ SM plugs being slow/hoggy. this is an example of it.
@john; i appreciate the respect and props, but i think the designer did a great job on the UI - it feels pro, and it looks aligned with bootsy's other stuff.

this is up there with the best reverbs. i did an A|B comparison with this against arts acoustic, csr, tone2 warmverb, and ambience, and it held up nicely.
the characteristics of each of these plugins is different of course, but i was able to get relative approximations to the other ones i own. using epic verb.
that said, it's definitely a keeper. i find in isolation epicverb sounds best at light and extreme settings the sweet spot somewhere between large and x-large, but used "in the mix" it's damned good almost anywhere.
of the ones i've compared it's one of the easier ones to dial in. love the frequency/gain knobs overlaying each other occupying the same UI space like ambience. very cool.
a few things;
i notice a CPU spike when switching presets. guessing this is dezippering in effect? it's not a big deal as my hardware is quadcore, but on a older machine it might actually peak to 100%.
minor UI FR: can you make it so we can click directly on the LEDs of the reverb algorithm types without having to cycle through them with the up/down buttons?
@bootsy; very well done. this loads pretty fast compared to other SM stuff, and on modern hardware the CPU use is very ok.
