We have to wait until NAMM starts, haven't we? Teasing is great unless there's no relief from it by quick disclosure.

So give us that awesome answer now! :x

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

Could be Alesis.. the Andromeda VSTi :D
music // twolegs // geometriae
sounddesign // twolegstoneworks

I doubt they would make an Andromeda VSTi seeing as the whole point (which they went to extreme lengths to achieve) of the Andromeda was to be a real analogue synth - and it is still in production.

They would more likely do something new if it is them....

Post

The Andromeda is probably one of the only analogs that would doo well from being emulated as it has a very clinical sound.

Just my opinion, I didn't warm too much to it when I had one, it was an early version though.

I'm betting on Akai.

I'm hoping for something that does Physical modelling - I suggested that in a NI survey a couple of years ago.

An update to Pro 53 would also be nice but I would hope that they went more for a great VA rather than trying to take modelling the Prophet further (although something like the Zarg Solaris that models multiple VA types might be nice).

I don't get the rap on CPU usage to be honest- with the exception of Massive. And, the main reasons for Massive's being so high are the oversampling and the parallel voice computation; it's computing voices in groups of four.

a few years ago people would save up and buy an akai 6000 for 2-3k + or a big workstation keyboard.

now they hang on to their retired underpowered £200 pc's and winge on about cpu usage, then expect to run modern day synths that sound great with no cpu hit.

:hihi:

Nothing underpowered about my PC - it is top spec. but I still struggle with many plugins at once (not just NI). I think if companies invested enough they could streamline their plugins rather tha always releasing new things. Then again perhaps thats just the way the economics work

Post

Ah- now I understand. How silly of me... :dog:

:hihi:

Nice one, Matt...

Actually all NI products do come with a lower CPU version built in - it's called a quality or eco setting (coupled with the setting for number of voices). They all have one, even Massive.
