the only thing I have noticed is the way different hosts perform.
i can run way way more plugins in logic pro than I can in live.
host issues not plugs.

NI could perhaps provide an option for their music software to work at a reduced resolution... I think Reaktor has got this feature built in a while back IIRC.

i am an off the shelf user tho, cant be arsed to mess around with bits and bobs, even tho its prob easy enough and would work out cheaper/better...i prefer to just buy and walk away with a guarantee

Yeppers, S7PE. I'm thinking that using Kore 2 as a "sub-host" to run my softsynths in Sonar might improve things (as well as possibly allow me to use some softsynths that were problematic for me in Sonar previously), since I'm assuming that basically Sonar will only "see" Kore and no longer be dealing directly with the plugins contained within a Kore VST instance. (Granted, I probably shouldn't assume anything without knowing for a fact that that's how it works.)>My current DAW works reasonably well most of the time, but there's so much feature bloat in it
Let me guess - Sonar 7 or 8? I started using Cakewalk when it first came out in DOS and watched it bloat over the years into the monstrosity it is today. I think I was a lot happier and productive when I wasn't fighting with trying to learn all of the bells and whistles and the myriad interactions that resulted. Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) is the foundation of elegance to me.
I've already had an experience to suggest it will help matters. One of my problems in Sonar is that, once a session reaches a certain degree of complexity with lots of synths and other plugins, Sonar's audio engine keeps wanting to stop, even though the CPU still has plenty of breathing room. Omnisphere and Stylus RMX are major "engine stallers" in more complicated Sonar sessions for me. A few days ago, I was trying to instantiate Omnisphere in a very complex session I have going and no dice, stalled Sonar right out. Today I tried instantiating Kore in that session and then Omnisphere within Kore - no audio engine stalls, worked just fine.

I'm guesing the guitar bit will be 10 (or more) Kore packs with artist presets in the style of famous guitarist, with additionel amp models and effects, which you can use both in guitar rig and Kore 2 FX.

Or it could be the UAD2/Ni edition, which was hinted at when the trailer for UAD2 was released.
