I think it would be useful for registered users to have access to a folder with the latest builds identified separately so if one is broken we can backdate to a more stable version. Having only one link to a version that doesn't state what build it is makes it confusing to keep up.
OK, I've put back build 2008 which won't have expired yet and as far as I know is the most stable build yet. Build 2010 is building as we speak and should be available in the next few hours.

Your right, I need to put in place something to prevent this happening again and a way to have at least one previous build always available. I'm about to go on holidays for 10 days (10th-20th), but will look into this when I get back.

FYI, the beta builds all expire 30 days after the date they were built... this is only during the beta period and once officially released, this will time limit will be removed.

As for the weirdness you described... lets just say the reason for that will become obvious later.

What! I must need a holiday... checking now.

I'm just using the link that was in my "Thank you for purchasing Cantabile 2.0 Solo" email - is that right? There are no build numbers or changelogs in the setup files so it's hard to know which is which.

OK, I'm pretty sure build 2008 is up there, but there installer doesn't want to downgrade the exe. Try uninstalling then installing 2008... that should fix it.

I see - will I lose all my settings?

Yep, that's correct - there's only the one download location and it's always for the latest.

No. To be sure, instead of uninstalling you could just delete or rename the Cantabile .exe file and then install - that should fix it too.

I tried that but it didn't work. That led me to guess the problem wasn't due to the updater refusing to update a later version but due to Firefox not downloading the file from the link but from the cache so I emptied it and redownloaded and after several attempts due to the server playing silly buggers I have it running again - finally ! :)
