New updates v2. - Coming 15th January: energyXT 2.5

I have not really used eXT2 that much since the automation bug emerged. After a quick test run of 2.5, it seems to be gone. I will have to try out 2.5 this weekend and see if its usable in some way for me.

Is it really gone?
Could you test the same scenario using 2.5 and an older version (a previous beta), and 2.5 worked while the older crashed?

I think the guys like tomg are just trolls who like to post nonsense in forums to stir things up and push people's buttons. I would just ignore them.

But a lot of people owe you an apology, jens, for trying to steer energyxt back on track when it started becoming apparent that it was veering off course.

these are the responses _I_ don't get. the 1.x characters like me, perhaps, but like i said, there are BUGS in 1.x that should have been FIXED, in order for me to NOT HAVE REASON TO COMPLAIN, but they weren't, in lieu of starting development on the "Lamborghini of sequencers", XT2. i said cool, free upgrade for me, then thats cool. but it hasnt delivered and its been a LONG time. we are passed the threshhold of polite patience imo for the lack of communication, most of us stuck by jorgen when the first wave of dissenters were rising, and now I look like the ass.

yeah i almost saw this coming, yeah i *wanted* this to be the update that restored my faith but knew that was highly unlikely, do i still have reason to be pissed at THIS point, in Jan 2009, when the sequencer doesnt even support multicore? i belive, at THIS point, its warranted to be a little rant-ish, despite the "price point", despite whatever. a promise to the consumer should be kept.

i paid for xt1.x but it was never finished. large amounts of audio causes great pains in it. fix that and i may just forget xt2 existed altogether...

I couldn't find anything so immediate as xt2, and I want to keep using it, but I'd like to check the alternatives... Something that it's in the same vein, more or less. Especially if it has inline editing and doesn't cost $500. Couldn't work very well with Reaper, sadly.

Yes, I push buttons when needed. A troll would never last 6 years without getting banned for something.

And that's bullshit. He was in no position to steer anything. Jens did not write one line of XT code.

That is exactly the problem. For some reason some of the people around here that don't know anything at all, think that they know better than the developer and naturally the developer is a dumb ass if he has another plan.

sorry, but then you must be blind or something - I'm never 'ruffling feathers' without a reason - I don't enjoy quarelling - but I enjoy helping others, answering questions, etc. and my posts are proof of this. Please be so fair as to check the validity of your perception.

Tomg has never given any user support on this forum as I have - I was always there to answer users' questions - not tomg.

While I'd never defend his attitude, to be fair to him Jens was for a long time one of the people most familiar with EnergyXT 1.x as well as being one of the most active in helping out and sharing that knowledge.

yeah, I re-changed the password - it's an interesting read for sure though, especially if you look at how much time I wasted reporting stuff and making suggestions which Jorgen mostly agreed on but then changed his own plans to code an OSX-version, a synth, a toyish drum-sampler, etc. instead.

All acivity basically stopped in december 2006, when the first public 'beta' appeared. Jorgen said the private testing would still continue, but that was the first promise he broke.
