Dave isn't a coder.

He's a bloody good patch programmer though.

How long until M-Audio start shipping in the UK ???

Looks good !

Just wondering if it still maintains the ability to load Sysex from the OSCar?

Cheers
I don't have anything against gravity but it really does weigh me down

I wish I could give you a straight answer, but I actually don't know.

I don't work FOR G-Force, I work WITH them. I can't even tell you what I'm going to do next, because I have to balance my love of producing creative tools with other aims and responsibilities.

Dave does love his Oberheims though.

It will load OSCar patches, so any sysex converted using the patch converter will work fine.

And if anyone has old tape banks lying around, I can convert wavs taken from those too (never released that tool because I found I had to tweak it for every set of wavs)

Nice one Jon

Well, I'm very excited about this! Congrats to Jon and the team.

The Oberheim emu can wait and until such time as it may or may not happen we have our real Oberheims to tide us over - and my much-loved Nova too, btw. :)

What's great about the Oscar is that it has not just the analog aspect, but the digital aspect as well. So in some respects I'm glad that this is the big unveiling because I think sonically it provides a wider pallet. It will be great to see this synth go to the next level.

Personally, I think that the MTron pro was a great update. Also, I think that the upgrade price was very fair. If the pro is any indication, I expect that the ImpOSCar update will be reasonably priced as well. At least I hope so. :)
Available on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

Well, I guess Sonic Projects can relax, if only for a moment :) It's hard to imagine a situation where Imposcar 2 could be announced, but leaves many feeling a little disappointed. I suppose it's to be expected when everybody was expecting something else!

If SOB is still intended for release, it must have been in development for around 4 years by now? Becoming the Duke Nukem of the VST world? :)

Better than being the Chinese Democracy of the VSTi world....

The truth of the matter is that the existance of the impOSCar 2 has nothing to do with the SOB situation (despite Dave's little windup, inspired largely because he found he could produce OB8 type sounds) so please judge it on its own merits, don't condemn it for not being something else.
So what is the SOB situation?

I'd be only too happy to see Imposcar2, and I'd possibly convert to a happyclappyOscarchappie if you could load 128 presets at a time instead of the - what is it - 36? It's the tampon in my workflow for Imposcar.

Would you just like the same system but with bigger banks, or do you have another system you prefer?

Thanks for asking. I really like the system in (eg) either Sylenth or Pentagon where you can click an area that shows banks A,B,C,D and for each bank you have 4 columns of 32 patch names. Whoever grouped the Imposcar banks (was it Kriminal?) into basses, pads etc did Imposcar users a big favour, but I often found myself preferring to use a synth where preset hopping was quicker/had more choices without having to load another bank. Shame really. *Erhem* years on and Imposcar holds its own with just about any vst in terms of sheer sound quality. Lawdy knows what Imposcar2 will be like...

You've just given me an idea :)

it will probably not be exactly the same as Sylenth, but I shall endeavour to make you HappyClappy
