Under /dsp/stobe, are the one's labelled "andy" also strobe demos? Because if so, I'm shitting myself in a fit of uncontrollable joy here over how analog "andydancearp.mp3" sounds.

Yes, the example http://www.vellocet.com/dsp/strobe/AndyDanceArp.mp3 is me playing Strobe live with a midi keyboard, the arp on and moving some faders. All those examples are comletely dry, no compression, no nothing. They weren't even rendered down using a higher than real time oversample. That preset has a really slow velocity glide so hitting the keys harder or softer brings the filter up or down, then there was another controller hooked up to filter drive, and another to osc self sync.MitchK1989 wrote:Under /dsp/stobe, are the one's labelled "andy" also strobe demos? Well, I think it's safe to say that you're a genius when it comes to analog modeling then.andy_cytomic wrote:Yes, the example http://www.vellocet.com/dsp/strobe/AndyDanceArp.mp3 is me playing Strobe live with a midi keyboard, the arp on and moving some faders. I used to feel like I was missing out by being dongle-free thanks to the korg analog edition... Now I've found something that will more than satisfy my lust for that sort of thing. I just hope it isn't too expensive.

Yes, deadmau5 used Strobe on Faxing Berlin, Clockwork, Not Excatly, and a few other songs. He also uses lots of analog kit and other plugins.Muzik 4 Machines wrote:is that the deadmau5 secret synth from the CM video?

Just FYI, 'strobe_nebulous', 'strobe_mycelium', 'amber_glowing_circuits', 'amber_solar_vibes', 'cypher_funkynightmares' and 'cypher_memories_of_a_droid' don't have any effects on the synth sounds at all. Yes there are drums and multiple sounds but we've been slated before for not providing demos in a more 'finished song' context, so that's what we tried to do. We can understand both sides, and the best thing is to find a balance - by the time Andy's done today there should be more of a mix between song sketches and raw synth sounds.Shy wrote:I think if you want to show off your synth's quality, their "analogness", then surely it would be much easier to hear without any effects, especially drum samples and other unrelated stuff all around.

Let me clarify this, there are no insert of send effects on the synths themselves, but there is a very subtle buss compression on the entire mix provided by Fusor's inbuilt buss compressor, which is the same one that features in BFD2.mm_FX wrote:Just FYI, 'strobe_nebulous', 'strobe_mycelium', 'amber_glowing_circuits', 'amber_solar_vibes', 'cypher_funkynightmares' and 'cypher_memories_of_a_droid' don't have any effects on the synth sounds at all.

Memories of a droid has no effects other than subtle mix buss compression?andy_cytomic wrote:Let me clarify this, there are no insert of send effects on the synths themselves, but there is a very subtle buss compression on the entire mix provided by Fusor's inbuilt buss compressor, which is the same one that features in BFD2.mm_FX wrote:Just FYI, 'strobe_nebulous', 'strobe_mycelium', 'amber_glowing_circuits', 'amber_solar_vibes', 'cypher_funkynightmares' and 'cypher_memories_of_a_droid' don't have any effects on the synth sounds at all.

That's the audio demo that originally convinced me I needed this pack. Sounds like that are just... Amazing. That track sold me on cypher and then your examples sold me on strobe... Amber is the only thing I haven't heard anything outright kickass from yet.

To be fair, I'm not really "into" spacey chorused pads.ckatrun411 wrote:MitchK1989 wrote: Amber is the only thing I haven't heard anything outright kickass from yet.

Is the music that starts at about 01:55 during the video at Synthsquad.com available somewhere to download? Except the drums, is this all just the new synths? Such a cool track!
I'm really impressed with the look and sound of these
