Damn, the possibilities the Time Designer provides are insane....my entire library will expand exponentially. It almost seems Melodyne Direct Note Access-like in the way that both can open up the potential of existing libraries. In RMX's case it seems loop and rhythm specific, but the power it promises is ridiculous.

Guess it's time for me to finally purchase RMX. These possibilities are looking extremely great.

Thing that's wondering me:
Can I "move" the slices in Time Designer after I simplyfied them?
And can I turn off the Time Designer, after I dragged out a MIDI file from it?
Maybe the official videos will show that, but this wasn't clear from the YouTube vids. And did I hear that right, that RMX also get's a preset overhaul, or was that really Omnisphere only?

All I know is, I have been hoping for a feature like Time Designer - many compositions we create call for odd or non-dance related time signatures and were almost impossible to do in RMX (my favorite drum plugin).
So, this FREE update is a godsend and will massively expand what I already consider to be one of the best drum plugins you can possibly buy!

I don't think that's going to be possible in RMX itself, although I totally wish it was. (If it is I'll gladly eat my wordsCompyfox wrote:Can I "move" the slices in Time Designer after I simplified them?

I don't think that'll be possible either because the midi is still accessing RMX and and changes will be registered in real-time. I believe you would have to render to audio. Again, I hope I'm wrong.

Yes...you can just drag it to the host and do any further edits you like.RawTheory wrote:I don't think that's going to be possible in RMX itself, although I totally wish it was. I think you would have to drag/drop the midi file after you've got the settings you want and then modify it in the piano roll.
Yes, you can turn Time Designer off after the drag and drop...because all the changes from Time Designer are ecoded into the MIDI File when its drag and dropped.Compyfox wrote:And can I turn off the Time Designer, after I dragged out a MIDI file from it?

So what you hear in RMX is what you get when it is dragged to the host. Audio Rendering is not necessary,

This has resolved the main complaint I have with Stylus! Thanks! Only question I have is will this be adaptable to multiple time signatures? I have alot of 3/4 or 6/8 to 4/4 songs...spectrum wrote:Yep.RawTheory wrote:Damn, the possibilities the Time Designer provides are insane....my entire library will expand exponentially. Sure.
You just set up each time signature variation you want in RMX and drag and drop to your host - and arrange the structure of the tune in your host as you usually would. Nothing extra to learn in RMX to do this.

Does anyone know:
Will Time Designer connect in any way to Chaos?
For example, I have a Chaos plumbed in for every 8th bar of a groove to give a fill effect.
Will the Chaos effect on the source groove affect any downline grooves, or Omnisphere arps?
What can I expect?
Thanks for these links, Frank. Awesome. I'm in heaven. These RMX 1.7 vids show some of Time Designer's capabilities:

Man I hope it isn't another 45 GB....I'm hoping that they didn't record many more soundsources and just used the existing ones to create the patches.
They have 2000 more presets. That doesn't mean more raw sounds. It just means that people have created new presets from existing sounds. The update might only be around 5MBs, who knows?

Hi Eric, thanks for answering.
This would be great.
One thing though, Eric. Any chance that the FX plugins from RMX will be available as seperate VST Plugin someday? Oh and will RMX also get 2000 new patches?
Just curious right there.
Oh and.. are you peeps at Musikmesse 2009 this year?
Thing is though, can I "move" the simplified slices in the Time Designer around to create a different swing "manually", or maybe even manually turn on/off some of the simplified slices, to have more control over the simplify knob?spectrum wrote: Yes...you can just drag it to the host and do any further edits you like.

I kinda guessed that drag and drop should be at least possible, since there was also some sort of "window" like in all other tabs. But this drag'n drop never really worked for me for the Chaos Designer, this is why I still prefer DBlue's Glitch for this kind of stuff. But if it's working for the Time Designer, and I can simply turn it off, wonderful.spectrum wrote:Yes, you can turn Time Designer off after the drag and drop...because all the changes from Time Designer are ecoded into the MIDI File when its drag and dropped.
