how to import presets names ?

Hi
I am a Cantabile newbie.
I have downloaded it in order to quickly create FXB out of several individual FXP (in replacement of MiniHost).

My problem is that, when i open a plugin, then go to "program organizer > file > import prorams", all seems fine, i can select the presets, and import them into the current FXB shown in the left column of the program organizer.

But if the sounds are imported properly, i can not see the preset name being displayed in the column.

Is it normal ? Am i doing something wrong ?
Thank you

Bump !

I tried with 2 different plugins, and it is the same : the sound data of the preset is getting imported, but the preset name doesn't.

(the 2 plugins were DiscoDSP DiscoVery and Twin Dash Player, and the fxp were created using Ext2).

Hi sinkmusic,

I've not seen this before and it was ages ago that I wrote that code. I'll take a closer look over the next day or two and get back to you.

btw, here is the synth i tried with, and if you wish to, i can send you the fxp, if it can be of any help.

OK, I've taken a closer look at this and when importing a program it uses the program name saved in the fxp file. I'm guessing the plugin or host you're using to create the presets isn't setting this up correctly when exporting the fxp.

As a workaround, I've put in a fix so that if the program name in the fxp is blank, it extracts the name from the file name. This will be in the next build (2011), probably a couple of days away...

Hi, Brad, and thank you for caring.

I am looking forward to the next build, then ;)

Hi again
I have checked a little bit more. In fact, i opened DiscoVery in Reaper, then in Live, and saved a FXP using each host. When i imported them both in Cantabile, the preset names were imported fine. So i guess it might be EnergyXT2-related.
(then i hope the next build will fix that Ext bug. If the issue is confirmed, i'll report it to Ext2 forum).

However, i tried to do the same using TwinDash Player, but this time, the FXP name saved in Live and Reaper could not be properly imported in Cantabile.

Let me know if i can further help.

Build 2011 with this fix is available now. Actually there's also a new option to force use of file names instead of name embedded in fxp file.

thank you for that. I will try it and let you know how it works ;)

Hi
It works fine, thank you very much.
