Good suggestion.
But it will be balanced with another possibility i was thinking of: double-click a note pops up a dialog with all details for that note.
In MU.LAB, double-clicking is most of the time used to 'edit' something.
Is it a real showstopper that you have to hold [Alt] to delete a note by mouse?

Well... it all depends, I think, if you are doing a lot of direct input rather than using a keyboard. I compose a lot during day's breaks and the mouse is the only thing available and is not as much as a showstopper (and the fact that you must go to the edges of the note, not easy on small ones) but more about flow especially when there are several option with modifier keys and....we use more than one product on a daily basemutools wrote:Good suggestion.

I do not like to compare products because feels like complaining (MuLab is superb overall) but for example in XT2 when right click in the midi editor, similar to the iPhone when scrolling, if a movement is detected then the the free scrolling is activated otherwise the pops are engaged = win/win solution. I find this to be the best scrolling among all Daws and maybe the same behavior can be use for Note Delete or... Scrolling
IMHO the less Two-Hands actions the better.
Or can these options be part of a User-Configuration setup?

Yeah, I wish MuLab had a free scrolling option. I've liked the feature ever since I first used it in, what, Paint Shop Pro or something years ago.
Whether the workspace is a timeline, 2d image or 3d space, scrolling / looking around with the mouse mouse feels to me like the most precise, natural way to do so.

Well...
one of the many reasons users of the XT2 are still there despite the fact that nothing is happening, is also the midi editor flow due to the use of the mouse.
I am pretty sure that a flock of user would fly here ( = business) if a similar implementation would appear in MuLab.
XT lacks many of the goodies of MuLab including an OUTSTANDING Developer.

I know what you mean and already have important notes about this on the whishlist. Working on it... Thank you for listening.
Like I said in other forums, MuLab has an Outstanding developer.

Didn't see it in here as a wishlist item, but I would like to have a 'Notes' section tied to each MuSession to keep references that I can't remember for a project e.g. where files were obtained, parameters to tweak, alternate samples considered, links to support sites, etc.
After a number of projects I lose track of my references for a specific project (since I don't complete everything I start).
The notes could be called up from the File Menu for each MuSession.

What about using a text file with the same name as the musession in the same folder as the musession?
That should not be too hard to keep track of, right?

Or you can use a VST plugin called TrackNotepad which seems to be exactly what you want.
I would add one FR:
possibility to create a new folder from within the "save session" and "save session as..." dialogs.

The best track notes plugin I've found is Trackpad3 -- it allows you to embed pictures (useful for gear or mixer settings, mood prompts etc,), different sized fonts, automated page changes and plotting guitar chords on a virtual fretboard.
I don't think it's available any more but if you're interested, PM me yer email address.

Yes, it's a decent workaround, but still involves closing/minimizing MuLab in order to locate and start the Notes program. Since this is the Feature Request thread, I would still like to see something built into MuLab that would be just a mouseclick away.mutools wrote:What about using a text file with the same name as the musession in the same folder as the musession?

2 requests:
#1 - the Save As dialogue really lacks a Make New Folder button
#2 - i noticed that if we record audio over 4 bars in loop mode, and record it in a period of, lets say 4 loops, the resulting recorded material is a 16 bar audio file. which is neat. this way its easy to use a little loop sequence and record your improvisations over it for as long as you like. its also neat for recording multiple vocal takes - you can make multiple takes of the same vocal phrase even though you pressed the recording button only once.
anyway, if we try to do this while recording midi, each loop will record itself over the last one, creating a mess. so, can this somehow be fixed? this way we could improvise for as long as we want over the same loop while recording midi too.[/i]

Yeah! Neat idea. (I don't record audio, so I didn't know!)tomica wrote:2)...this way we could improvise for as long as we want over the same loop while recording midi too.

I think there's nothing wrong with the way MIDI is recorded in that situation, but it would be good to get an option when you press stop after recording, if you recorded some MIDI longer than the loop setting, whether you want to merge or expand the recorded MIDI data.tomica wrote: #2 - i noticed that if we record audio over 4 bars in loop mode, and record it in a period of, lets say 4 loops, the resulting recorded material is a 16 bar audio file. which is neat. this way its easy to use a little loop sequence and record your improvisations over it for as long as you like. its also neat for recording multiple vocal takes - you can make multiple takes of the same vocal phrase even though you pressed the recording button only once.
