No, that was an older compressor I wrote. The interview was done before the cytomic one was ready. He now uses the cytomic compressor which has an improved algorithm.filtide wrote:Is that the comp i've seen in the FM Chris Lake interview? White and black meter at the left?

I'm still aiming for before the end of Q1 for the release, and that's still looking good.teknobryan wrote:Andrew,

You have some serious street cred in the electro house world.
It's amazing how all these guys use your stuff (synths, compressors, filters). I can't think of a better way to promote what you've done!

Since there was 19 pages, I couldnt be arsed to read it all
This is a question to the developer:
How good is this new comp going te be compared to the best that is already out there? There is a lot of competition so how do you see your compressor compared to the others? i.e. does your have more character, is it suited for everything or is it used for mastering purposes etc.
Try and be honest and unbiased

I've done my best to make this compressor sound like all the good bits of the analog one it's modelled on. The best that is out there I consider to be analog, but are you talking about plugins? I can't give you a definitive answer on what other peoples plugins sound like, I only care about matching what I do to analog. I've done many audio examples which you can find back through this thread. If you want to browse them all yourself have a look here:Jay-Producer wrote:Since there was 19 pages, I couldnt be arsed to read it all

I am using the same algorithms non-linear implicit differential equation solving algorithms that are used by circuit simulation software like qucs and spice, but have optimised it for real time use and paid careful attention to detail to make the compressor quick and easy to use, uncluttered, and only have just as many knobs as you need to get the job done.
Everyone that currently has a copy, and this includes high profile dance music people, use it on every track they do.

Thanks for the response and link. I'll be sure to have a listen. Sounds an interesting Comp. Ease of use is always a bonus.

The final logo design is taking a while so I think I should at least share an almost final screenshot with everyone till then, and announce the actual name of the compressor.
