Thanks Andy for all the straight up bullshit free information and keeping us lot in the loop over time - its appreciated. The layout looks good and resembles them good bus compressor's of course it is based on and without any fancy nonsense which i dig. The only apt word i can think of to describe it is 'Business Compressor' IE: You get on with using it and not messing about if you know what i mean (and that is meant as a compliment mate)andy_cytomic wrote:The final logo design is taking a while so I think I should at least share an almost final screenshot with everyone till then, and announce the actual name of the compressor.

The sidechain hp works on the sidechain. The external sidechain in switch allows you to use an external signal for the sidechain input.fjolle wrote:I like the design :)Does the sidechain work without external input, or did you not add that feature due to the Range-controller being added?
You're welcomeNEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Thanks Andy for all the straight up bullshit free information and keeping us lot in the loop over time - its appreciated.
Excellent, that's exactly was I was going for when I designed and rendered the interface. It took me a couple of weeks to learn my way around Rhino 3D and V-Ray, which was the best value for money package I could find to get the job done that I wanted. For 3D stuff they are priced pretty reasonably.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:The layout looks good and resembles them good bus compressor's of course it is based on and without any fancy nonsense which i dig. All the best to you and really looking forward to the glue, so until then take care man

The needle is a very accurate physical model of what the actual analog needle looks like, rendered at a very high frame rate and includes motion blur. Between the needle and the peak clip led, hopefully you won't even miss digital metering. I don't want want visual distractions cluttering your mind and getting in the way of a great sound. You can still put your own metering plugin both before and after The Glue, but in the end, after you have used The Glue on a few productions, I hope you will appreciate the clear, elegant, and stripped down design.Jay-Producer wrote:Design looks cool and straight forward. Would be nice to have different meeter viewing options for both analogue and digital style.

The sidechain is always in operation, as is the high pass filter that is on it. In addition you can switch the sidechain signal to be an external one, through audio inputs 3+4 of the plugin. The Range control is a more useful way in general to control pumping, but the high pass is still useful in some situations.fjolle wrote:Does the sidechain work without external input, or did you not add that feature due to the Range-controller being added?
I'm well aware of how a compressor works, thank you. I was merely asking if you only allowed HP filtering on the sidechain signal when external input was enabled. (Which have seen before on plugin compressors, hence i was asking the question)andy_cytomic wrote: The sidechain hp works on the sidechain. A common mistake make by daw users and manufacturers alike is to refer to the sidechain signal as always being an external sidechain signal, this is incorrect. The sidechain signal is simply the one that the detector uses, which is by default the same signal as that being compressor, or can be switched to being an external one. The high pass in not in the main audio path, it's in the sidechain audio path.
Sorry if this is confusing, but I won't have incorrect terminology in professional products I'm making.

Its ok.Sorry about my last reply, it's just me getting annoyed at the industry, not you

Again, sorry for that, I was in rant mode. I'm glad it's as you would expectfjolle wrote:Thank you for the answer, works as i would expect it to
