Thanks - I'll try it when I have everything set up on my laptop - haven't got round to installing the Arturia synth yet anyway as I need to set up KORE first (will be my audio interface) but was planning to wait for Komplete 4 to arrive so I can set it all up together.Eliosound wrote:Yes, you can !aMUSEd wrote:Is it possible to transfer the licenses onto the same Syncrosoft dongle so you don't need 2 at the same time? - I just got Arturia Prophet 5 and was wondering about having them both on the same key - or do they charge for such things?
In fact a Syncrosoft dongle can handle many licences. And this kind of licence transfer can be done directly with the Syncrosoft Licence Control Center, obsiously for free ! But I beleive that all licence transferts are recorded on the Syncrosoft servers, so you may have to be connected to the internet.
Yes, absolutely.aMUSEd wrote:I know you have this option when you purchase but I already have the dongled version. I was wondering if the syncrosoft license manager lets you transfer licenses too - I haven't really explored it as yet.

Fabrice...I don't at all mind the lack of graphical aids for initial filter assignments, but being able to quickly and easily group a number of points that define a complex filter, and then manipulate them as a whole is a very powerful shaping technique.
Also, it is not unusual for me to place shelving filters in the midst of regular bells to facilitate complex local control over a shape. And, personally speaking, I still find full individual control over left/right channels to be a useful feature for an EQ, especially one designed to process stereo sources. I may be in the minority on this point, however.

Hi Fabrice - concerning individual L/R/M/S control, I know you probably have some ideas on this already. Whenever you get the chance to think about this maybe everyone can throw in their 2cents. This is kinda like doors and windows on a house - some house models have some cool features that you'd like on your own house...
Here's my list of favorite L/R/M/S controlled EQ processors:
PLParEQ3 - this one lets me set a filter to either L+R, L side only, R side only, or L+R-. Same for M/S. The first 3 options are obvious. The last option, L+R- , is pretty cool in a differential kinda way because if I set L=+3db then R auto-magically drops -3db. This EQ uses the same Freq/Q for each channel in L+R- mode.
Kjaerhus GEQ-7 - this one has a slightly different take on L/R control and is probably better IMO even though it doesn't have L+R-. I can set a filter for individual Left (G=-2db,Freq=1K,Q=0.7) and the same filter (from the UI perspective) Right (G=+1db,Freq=1.8K,Q=0.5). Then I can click the "LINKED" switch and the gain/freq/Q are now offset controls relative to the individual L/R settings I have already made. Individual characteristics of both L/R are preserved but can now be stretched or shrunk while retaining the relative Left-to-Right aspect, in other words.
Then you have the basic EQ filter that seperate allows L+R control, Left or Right - like Eqium & Firium. This is just fine also.
Either way it'll be cool just having individual L/R/M/S control. I can add some info concerning WHY this is a good control to have if we need to go there but I'll just say for now that for remastering folk it's really useful!
Any ideas Fabrice and AirEQ users?
Thanks,
Kyle

I agree with you, even if I do not use this kind of feature very often. Even we already planed to implement features that allow more powerful tuning, but we do not released it yet, because it requires that we have a long reflection and design, and also, like this posts prooves, a maximum of user feedback.kilroy wrote:Fabrice...I don't at all mind the lack of graphical aids for initial filter assignments, but being able to quickly and easily group a number of points that define a complex filter, and then manipulate them as a whole is a very powerful shaping technique.
For this kind of very special feature, I prefer discussing it with the users rather than making it available in the very first version, because we may forget a feature or a case, and it would be difficult to modify it after the release.
Like I said, it will be done, and I am already talking about that in PM with some people here, so don't hesitate to do the same !!kilroy wrote:Also, it is not unusual for me to place shelving filters in the midst of regular bells to facilitate complex local control over a shape. Anyway, we also may ask the people here what they need as L/R controls, feel free to post here your thougts and requirements..

Thanks Kylen !
I have some interesting ideas, I will think again about it, feel free to post other ideas !
Anyway, these feature will take sme time to do for us, because we have some GUI modifications to make, and we also have to be sure that the L/R feature implementation will be the best and the most useable. But a little wait will be the garantee to have the best possible feature that we could expect !

I think Massey Plug-ins could be a good example of how new developers should act regarding protection schemes and prices. In this case we have: high quality professional stuff (only ProTools at the moment), simple serial number auth, very fair prices (in the 69-89$ range more or less).
Results? A lot of satisfied users (and growing) around the world, a successful business.
I think Eliosound could/should follow this path (except for the PT only thing, of course!)... take a look here:

There is a grub buy running now, and you can get the eq at a very good price.
Right now I'm looking at the Massey plugins. They may have a good sound, but, apart from the limiter thery don't offer you by a mile the same level of control AirEQ offers. So they are not at all in the same league.

"# Q. Are you going to port these plug-ins to AU, VST, DirectX, etc!??
A. I would love to support all the platforms. But, maintaining and debugging so many variations would be a significant on-going commitment that could compromise my current support and maintenance obligations. So, for the time being, I plan to focus on the current offerings and my current customer base. In the future, when time permits, I will certainly revisit the decision to tackle other platforms."
"I'm a former employee of digidesign"
Hmmm.. Seems that the constraints are absolutely not the same for us than for Massey Plugins..
And not the same for the majority of plugin developers than for him..
Anyway, as a customer, I would also love to have all the formats, excellent algorithms, great features, a fast update policy, a good support, and at a very low price !fab m. wrote:(except for the PT only thing, of course!)...
But read what I previously wrote in the thread, and you may understand that the business is not as simple as "give more features for less money".

Thanks, I know. I was talking about business approach in general (protection schemes + regular prices, etc.), taking as example that brand that probably not many on kvr know (because it's PT only), but which is widely recognized in the pro audio world. It's just a simple suggestion, no more than that
Forgot to add: to Fabrice, I wish you all the best for this GB and your activity, it's always good to have a new developer with good sounding ideas. I'll keep an eye on you, and if sooner or later you'll go dongle-less I could join your user-base

Hi from France,
I have download Air EQ demo, a very nice plug I would like to buy. But, one inconvenient, the dongle. I do not want to use a plugin who takes one usb port, Logic pro already takes one, my mouse too and so many peripherals...

I know that taking one more USB port is an inconvenient, but I personnaly have so much USB periperals that even with no dongle, I need a hub. But carrying my licences are much more easy, for example I can lend some of my software or carry it because I have several systems, one at home and another in the studio, so I don't want to buy several times the same host or the same plugins..
And every year, I reinstall from scratch one of my systems, and reauthorizing my software is..
I even hate to search for a serial number, if I am not on my internet computer..

That seems like a good reason for a dongle, lending someone a plugin for a few days to try out. Then they can buy it if they want, assuming they don't keep your dongle...Eiosis wrote:... for example I can lend some of my software or carry it because I have several systems, one at home and another in the studio, so I don't want to buy several times the same host or the same plugins..

Here I am working on a macbook pro, I can take it with me everywhere I go. In studio, in concert, to record, to mix... It is like a hard disk if I want to use another computer, so I don't need any dongle.

Fabrice (Eliosound) Do you intend to integrate a visual representation LCD screen?
I hate EQs that I can't see what frequencies I'm cutting. Although you should rely on your ears I still like to see visually what I'm doing.
Anyway, is it Universal Binary for Intel macs?
