the new markers in the picture above are "live" markers that you can trigger and change in sync, and can be used to record new mixes of the song on the fly into new arrangement, or just perform/compose live.

Im not sure if it makes sense to add timesig/tempo changes to them at all though. I probably have to make tempo/timesig as separate global tracks in addition to the live markers.

I also like the simple/advanced way where easily add tempo change, and optionally edit it as a envelope but not required.

That would be fine - but perhaps still as a permanent track - switch visible/invisible like the object bar

yes, they should probably be separate. it's conceivable that you might want to switch time signatures in the middle of a marker area, for example.

jorgen, could we please get visible node values back in the envelopes again?

i.e., to type in a node value directly (i.e., 150bpm). (i.e., it's actually a major problem in some other areas, like Pitch Wheel envelopes where there's no capacity for setting it to zero)

I'm guessing it's on the list, but I thought I'd mention it here just in case.

well, I like both of doing it to be honest. I guess that doesn't help much

however, when importing midi files from eg classic arrangements, tempo markers can get really confusing because of frequent tempo and/or meter changes. in this regard, a separate tempo track makes things easier. on the other hand, it can be more practical to implement the tempo/meter to markers; especially when dropping XTCs into your current project creating start & end markers with tempo/meter information.
anyway, the flick as mentioned before seems to be the best way of both possibilities. inserting tempo changes as markers in a rough draft, and if there is some finetuning needed you can expand those markers to a separate tempo track. essentially, with the marker view you have a quick glance of portions of your track, the tempo track can give you more freedom doing arrangement tweaking.

Sorry - I know, stability first, but I'm wetting my pants over here.

In terms of the tempo stuff - I do think it makes sense to separate them from the live markers, and I also think it's important to be able to shape tempo changes/transitions by envelope.

Thanks for taking the time to ask for input from all of us

I like the idea of a tempo track as well, and one that can implement ramping of tempo. I would like the idea of building the "tempo patterns" on this track also. Seems like it would "flow" with the whole idea behind Energy.

Question: Is there a possibility of this tempo track outputting MTC?

For the time signature stuff, I definitely would like to see each time signature region have the appropriate number of measures per bar/snapping etc... Hope that makes sense.
