upon hearing the chopin i was rather sure the rest was beethoven. been some time. i only like the nice bits

No, the very last phrase was definitely Chopin, although the great thing about the original is the floating fragility of the melody over the lilting bass, played with rubato. That's kind of lost over a pumping synth rhythm and bass.
It's definitely not the second movement of the Pathetique...
