Yeah yeah I know. Slightly cheesy but a bit of a guilty pleasure as I like bands that sound like Joy Division or have Ian Curtis style vocal
White Lies - E.S.T is awesome

currently: House of Love - "Shine On"

next up: Live - "Pain Lies on the Riverside"

both heard on the same trip to Spec's record store (which is now a PetsMart) aboot 1991

they both caught my ear and I bought the albums

I remember some other people commenting that day how old Ed K's voice sounded

edit: faulty memory -- it was some band other than House of Love

Peter Murphy - Strange Kind of Love

I've always been kind of shy, but when I heard this in a goth club 20 or 30 years ago, I went to ask the DJ who this was -- I had to know

a few years later, I heard someone singing this with an acoustic guitar, walking across a grassy slope up in the middle South ... it was beautiful

next up, Kate Bush - "Jig of Life", which I heard at the same gathering

from one of the two albums I bought at Tom's Used Grooves in Gainesville, FL, early 90's ("Hounds of Love", of course), back in the deck shoe days ;)

the other album was Bowie's "Lodger" and I have "Look Back in Anger" cued up, not that I'm angry, it's just a cool song

DJ K :hihi:
