EDIT: Old link now dead, as James is attempting to take it commercial as an experiment. You can preview and buy the track for mere pennies at the moment on Amie St

I covered one of James's tunes last month ("Opted In") for the monthly KVR contest. Here's another track from an eventually intended record release, just in time for the holiday!

I'm doing drums, editing, arrangement, and all-around production on DAW from his original hardware multi-track dumps. This track represents an "interim final" mix that we're going to live with for a bit, while we move onto more tracks, but figured we should give everyone a preview before Feb 14. ;)

Catch more of James's tunes at The James Rocket!

Hugs and kisses,
- m

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

Love it.... reminds me of The Psychadelic Furs.

I say that as a compliment as I was always a huge Furs fan.

Cheers
The music means nothing if the audience is deaf..........

Cool stuff, this is pretty similar to the track you submitted last month (genre).
Nice vocal style, good arrangement for this moderate-aggressive music
I enjoyed it

Cheers

Indie cracker, indeed! Yes, voice is layered and spread nicely: took some work!

Yeah, James has pretty much evolved a 'sound' ("indie by way of punk", perhaps), unlike my stuff which is all over the place! :P

We're trying to keep the arrangements tight, though we actually *added* the guitar solo and a chorus repeat to the original version! Still under 3 minutes, though. ;)

BTW, the original is HERE, should you be curious enough about the changes...

Great pop rock writing and production. Love the energy. The guitars really fill out the stereo field. That solo hit me like a sonic heart attack! Keep up the excellent work!

Yeah, we'd agreed that there's nothing particularly "wrong" with the original version (and I love the meaty quality of his mix that still eludes me), so this ended up as kind of an equally valid re-imagining a small step closer to radio-friendliness...
