This are not that obvious effects but they draw distinction for shure.
I would recommend to use a full spectrum signal (a mix or so) to get used to the pre-amp simulator effects.
If one expect/want more explicit effect then I recommend something like NastyCS.

Thanx a lot Bootsie!

I like the preamp section a lot. This is very smooth and nice. A great improvement. It's easy to shape the coloration of a kick with this one.
With the eq I like the low and high sections. Works good for me. Smooth and musical.

I get a short loudness increase when fastly moving the Drive knob e.g. by Ctrl-clicking on it.

Ah, okay.
I should test it with my monitors and not on my internet pc, sorry.

I couldn't believe that I can't hear a difference, so I thought to myself I might possibly at least see it. So I used a testtone generator with sine, square and sawtooth waves, and looked at the results on an analyzer (Voxengo Span), and I can't see a difference when switching on the saturation and/or vintage/modern (gain well in the red +16 dB)

are you turning the preamp section on? you have to engage it!

Post

In spite of the fact that we have Friday 13th I didn't forget about that! :hihi:

Post

would you mind to perform some simple analysis with CB's analyzer on your system and the plug-in and send me that plots and your system specs?

just to help out a bit here...this is the preamp affect on a 1kHz sine wave (i turned up the slope 7dB). It seems "modern" just has a more drastic affect on the higher partials than "vintage"

preamp off

BootEQmkII is very much a "musical" EQ as bootsie intends

it can cure some problems, but I would take care of bad freqs with something like PLParEQ or IIEQPro. after that, use BootEQmkII to bring out the track's character or even alter it

I really like BootEQmkII

Thanks Bootsie! (and just in time for the weekend) :)
