I've meanwhile investigated around five such cases to assure that the plug-in ain't broken in that specific enviroment but all were really healthy and not kaputt.
So by now I don't spent any more effort on this reports ....

I would recommend to use a full spectrum signal (a mix or so) to get used to the pre-amp simulator effects.
If one expect/want more explicit effect then I recommend something like NastyCS.

It's as always, like in most threads about Nebula. Some people hear "the magic" subtleties, some don't. It's also important to note that it is very much program dependent.
