Bootsie:
Just to add, I'm still seeing crashes in Sonar. I haven't narrowed it down to multiple instances or BootEQ just yet, but these appear to be very similar to what I was seeing consistently with the original version of BootEQ. So far these projects have had multiple instances (though again, I'm not sure if it's limited to that) and they crash on close. If you want, I can e-mail you the Sonar crash dumps. If so, let me know and I'll get those out to you.

No problems here in SONAR 8 PE. Very well done Boots! I could appreciate richness the preamp/drive added some lead vocals I was working on. If I can say it this way it sounds expensive. Very polished if you will.audiodob wrote:strange..I use Sonar 7 and no crash here. What comp and platform? Core2d,win pro here.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Using Sonar 8 right now. Today I inserted more than 3 BootEQ's into a reaper project and had no problems. I did however get a crash when I exit reaper, however it might be related to Nebula beta that I've been running in the same projects. I tried removing the BootEQs and didn't experience any crashes. Testing further.
So far I'm extremely impressed with this thing. I love the "tube/transformer" section. It sounds amazing and gives that polished, slightly softer transients, feel like Tessla but in an even more natural way.
Great plugin Bootsie! Let me remind you that beer is on me if you ever visit Helsinki, Finland!
Cheers!

I PM'd Bootsie the Dr. Watson crash logs, so hopefully whatever it is will be nailed down.Chrisma wrote:

Thanks a lot... Maybe you could teach me how to do that to send him REAPER crash log too. I thought I knew how but haven't find a way yet. Really appreciated.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I PM'd Bootsie the Dr. Watson crash logs, so hopefully whatever it is will be nailed down.Chrisma wrote:

NOTE: I have been speaking with one of REAPER's developers and he told me that it seems that some of his plug-ins have problems handling several instances, nothing serious but they can't do nothing about it.

I'm not sure how helpful the Dr. Watson logs actually are to the developers but here is a Microsoft Knowledge Base article on how to setup Dr. Watson for error reporting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308538Mercado_Negro wrote:Thanks a lot... So very truebmanic wrote:It's as always, like in most threads about Nebula. Some people hear "the magic" subtleties, some don't. It's also important to note that it is very much program dependent. Some material is easier to hear harmonic distortion than other.bootsie wrote:I've expected lots of complains about the sublety of the effect but I did not expect that much "there is nothing to hear - is this kaputt?" complains.![]()
I've meanwhile investigated around five such cases to assure that the plug-in ain't broken in that specific enviroment but all were really healthy and not kaputt.
So by now I don't spent any more effort on this reports ....
Cheers!

It depends on who is making the claim too--some people hear stuff that just isnt there. Even the best of us would swear to hear changes from our bypassed EQ's
Also there are really not that many talented people out of the thousands who post on the internet about mixing sound. Sure, they think they're talented but its a real God given skill to discern subtle changes in quality

Bootsie should really start charging a little for future releases, he could pull off charging fifty U.S. dollars,
